What do you Love about coming home from Vacation?

I'm glad to see I'm not the only crazy person who cleans the house to a gleaming shine before leaving on vacation. It just feels wonderful to walk through the door and see your home the way it should look everyday. I don't even like my husband to bring in the suitcases right away. It just feels like you've hit the restart button. I like that feeling.

I love taking a bath because I won't use hotel bathtubs, seeing my dog, sleeping in my own bed and being able to choose outfits from my entire wardrobe- not just what I brought with me in my suitcase.

For the most part, I DON'T like coming home from vacation because it never seems long enough and I feel like I am not ready to return to work. Reality forces the situation, however. The two things I do like about coming home are: the way my house smells (weird, I know, but I really like the smell of my house) and my sleep number bed. I do like the feeling of crawling into my bed for the first time. Ahhhhh.

Yea, I am a crazy person too....I am a clean freak anyways, but vacations always put me into a cleaning frenzy! On our last two big vacations, we unloaded our suitcases in our garage. A friend of mine brought home bedbugs in her suitcase after a trip to Disney last summer so now I wash everything in our suitcases (clean or dirty) and vacuum and sanitize our suitcases before we even bring them in. Coming home to my own laundry room also feels good after a long vacation.

My favorite part is sitting down to read all the newspapers that have accumulated while we were gone.

Definitely being able to sleep in my own bed in my own house. My bed is more comfortable to me than hotel beds or camping pads. My house is so much nicer than the hotels we stay in. It's also nice to have a little more private space with my wife than we get when we share a hotel room with the kids.

I also love getting back to work. Don't get me wrong, I love getting away, but once I've been away I usually have new ideas and new perspectives and am excited to get back.

I also love having my own kitchen and food again.

Another thing I love is going through the pictures from our trip, editing them, and putting together a vacation slideshow.

I hate coming home from vacation. If I had my wish, I'd always be travelling. When I saw Up in the Air, I was thinking how on earth can I get a job like that...

Since my family is with me on vacation and I have no family where we live--nothing, there is absolutely nothing I look forward to leaving a vacation and returning home for. . .sad, I know. . .

I was going to type this very thing!!! I clean like a nut so when I come home all there is, is laundry!!

I was really bad this year. We stayed in a villa and I did all the laundry before we left.

I'm on vacation right now in Lake Tahoe at my family's cabin and we're going home tomorrow. The beds up here are too soft and my back is killing me. I also can't get comfortable on the living room couch or chairs since they're also too soft. I'm looking forward to having more than one bathroom for my family of 4 and having a dishwasher again. I do like the fact that there's a washer and dryer here so I will be doing a lot of laundry today and taking it home clean. We have enjoyed our stay here but I'm ready to go back to my nice, comfy house! Oh, and we also miss our 4 bunnies and can't wait to give them all big hugs!

For me, it depends...

Regular vacation- Sleeping in my own bed, seeing my cat, and staying up late with no one caring if I did or not.

But if we're coming home from a cruise, it's being able to bend over in the shower and pick up the soap. And flushing a toilet that doesn't like a bomb went off when you flushed it.

MY BED!!!!!! I absolutely love my bed and if there was any way that I could transport it everywhere with me, I totally would! My cats are a close second since it's always so weird to not have little rocks of fur on the bed sleeping with us. I also miss that smell that says you're in your own house.
