What do you like to wear to the parks?

I have never dressed up for the parks. In my photo you can see I'm in jeans and a sweater (this was a December trip). Comfortable clothes and comfortable shoes. If I happen to look good, so be it, but that isn't the main point. I just don't want to be hot or cold, or wearing anything that will chafe, etc.

I see people posting about wearing dresses. I've thought about it for hot weather but I worry about a dress 'flying up' or getting caught on something and 'revealing more than I want revealed'. The thought of wearing a pair of short shorts or yoga shorts under a dress isn't appealing, since the point of a dress would be to be as cool as possible and adding another layer would sort of defeat the point.

Dress wearers, is this a problem or am I worrying about a non-issue.

PS I'm of a 'certain age' so I'm not talking about wearing a mini/short dress. I'm talking about a 'floaty' just below the knee skirt or dress.
I've been considering a skirt because I think/hope it would be cooler than shorts. I cannot belive how hot I was last week at Disneyland, and it was only 79! I think living in the Pacific NW has made me a heat wimp lol.

I found a couple of really cute knee length skirts I'm going to bring for our June trip. I only wear dresses or skirts once in a blue moon. But...whenever I do wear them I always wear slip shorts underneath. On the off chance my skirt blew up it would just look like knee-length bike shorts underneath. I have actually used bike shorts, too. I am of a certain age, also, and mini skirts are not an option. I don't even like to show my legs at all, normally, but I want to be as comfortable as possible during our next trip.

I just ordered that new Dapper Dans dress from the Disney website, I might bring that along too. I have given up on not over packing for this trip :)

My last visit to the parks I was wearing an Obi-wan shirt I got from Hot Topic and I got no less than 10 cast members complimenting me on it. So when the last one, a CM at Marcelline’s, mentioned it, I was like… wow, I’m getting so much CM love and she said it’s because they LOVE seeing unique stuff that they don’t sell at the parks. (And everyone, including those CMs, is also impatiently waiting for them to hopefully sell some Obi-wan merch when the new show starts!)
DH has a couple shirts that always get comments. One is HK Disney tshirt with dumplings, the other is a short sleeve button front with a Mickey logo I found at Target. CM def notice.
I am almost always in quick dry shorts or capris
Any particular brand of capris you recommend?
My usual is some capris I got at Costco a few years ago. They are light weight & loose fitting, usually great but out trip to WDW last August even they were too hot. In addition, I just had shoulder surgery and will still be in a sling for our trip next month. I need pants I can get on/off with 1 hand and possibly some button front shirts. Right now even tshirts are a no-go since I can't raise my arm. (I actually bought a few shirts that have snaps across the shoulder so I can get them on without moving my arm).

I actually don’t own any tops that are overtly Disney, so for me its all about the accessories. My sis calls it “stealth Disney.” Whether I am wearing jeans, capris or the aformentioned “slob going to the gym” leggings (love that description, ha!) with a nice-ish top or tee I will accessorize with a crazy/glittery/fun backpack, a bracelet or earings … and pixie dust (glitter) in my hair. Always.

Yes, I am a grown woman who wears glitter in her hair. ✨😆✨

I want glitter in my hair! Is it normal glitter or special hair glitter? it sounds so cute.

Would you believe we have tried several? 🤣 I have light hair and prefer the spray glitter you can find at party stores (or stock up on after Halloween), and my sis who has darker hair uses Unicorn Snot (brand, yes for real) or mixes glitter in with her hair goop. She got mickey head glitter intended for nail art our last visit that was sooooo cute.

it all started when we were in line for frozen at Epcot and saw a dad with his princesses and an epic glittered beard. My sis and I looked at each other like: oh yes we will!

enjoy your pixie dust. Spread it! ✨✨✨

I will need to raid my local party store! I am on a glitter mission! I'm ridiculously excited !!! :jumping1:

For me, the focus is on cool and comfy. If it's hot, I like the PFG Freezer dress, by Columbia. It's made out of a material that feels cool to the touch. It comes in short and longer versions and in a variety of colors/prints. I also love the sport skirts by Colorado Clothing. These are soft skirts (again, lots of colors/prints) with integrated boy-cut shorts underneath. I take these skirts with me on vacation as I can wear them doing outdoorsy things (hiking, beach, biking, etc.) as well as out to a nice restaurant or...whatever. They look nice with a variety of footwear and are affordable $13-35 on Amazon. Beyond that, I bring a stack of fitted tees in a variety of colors (some long sleeve) and several pairs of black yoga pants/leggings.

I saw those freezer dresses on Amazon and I was wondering if they are actually cooler or just like any tank dress. Maybe I'll try one.

I alternate between comfy and cute depending on what we're doing. Oh we rope dropping and I mean business? Shorts and Disney tank/tee with comfy Nikes it is. If we're taking a break and coming back for dinner then I may switch into a dress with birkenstocks. I usually wear shorts under dresses- you can find ones made specifically for those purpose that are very thin so you won't sweat- try searching 'slip' shorts on Amazon. Also prevents chafing. 👍🏻 I also like rompers too because you get the cute look of a dress with the convenience of shorts. Maurice's is my favorite brand for those- they're usually long enough to work well.

I always have Disney accessories- Loungefly, Minnie ears, jewelry.. and just bought a Minnie jean jacket off shop disney to wear with sundress and rompers for our May trip! I plan when we're going to take a Photopass picture in front of the castle, etc. (type A personality, party of me!) so I'll make sure that's a day I'm wearing a cute outfit.

You both look great! I have a Batuu style costume I wore to Star Wars nite and I was thinking of wearing it to Galaxy's Edge one day during our June trip. I wasn't sure if it's allowed, but I assume it is since you were able to wear your outfits. I love your belt.
The belt, I actually bought there the day before I wore it. It really completed the look. I was hesitating over the ridiculous price (what do you expect in Blackspire Outpost?) but DH talked me into it, and I’m glad he did!

Good choice! I'm going to look for it when we go in June :)

My shorts are not actual shorts... I found bike-short length thin-material underwear. So a bit of a fly up or getting in and out of vehicles is not a problem or concern. I definitely wouldn't walk around in them as regular shorts, but they are very comfy and lightweight and work perfectly. I even used them almost every day with dresses sightseeing through Europe when it was around 100F every single day, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. (Note: I'm a little on the heavier side, and the shorts helped a lot with the thigh-rub sitch as well.)

It was quite a few years ago now but I just got them from Amazon.

Hope that helps!

Over sized hat to keep the sun off my neck/face.
Sun Glasses for obvious reasons.
Camel back filled with ice water.
Comfortable clothes that dry quickly.
As few possessions as humanly possible.

Generally speaking....shorts, sneakers, and as for shirts....depends....if I have a nicer meal planned, then I wear a Disney character polo shirt (we embroider our own and now have quite a collection). They also look good in photos. If it's just a do all the rides kind of day, then usually a Disney character tee shirt (we design our own and use vinyl for the design). Then usually a cap for later in the day when the hair is looking like it's had a rough day. And sunglasses. Oh, and I usually take a light jacket for in the mornings and evenings. I stuff it in the locker when it warms up mid-day.
