Hi,

We just returned from a wonderful trip to HH and now DH and I do what we usually do, make next year's plans. We have decided to try BWV and VB in mid-June 2004.

DSs will be 14 and 15 then and they plus DH want to try BWV. But I have never been that interested in staying there. I guess I am just a VWL girl at heart. ;) ;)

Anyway, any trip to WDW will be a great one, but plese tell me why you like to stay at BWV.

Thanks!
Karen

I've only stayed once so far at BWV, but I absolutely loved it! I enjoyed all the activity on the Boardwalk. Constant entertainment and fun atmosphere if and when you want it. I also enjoyed the pool with the "scary clown" water slide. Had a great time going down that slide over and over! :p

Probably the best part was the location. It was excellent being so close to 2 of the theme parks!

I had my two 17 YO nieces with me, and they really enjoyed the BWV experience too. I'm anxious to go back again this Christmas!

I hope you really enjoy your stay there next year! :D

It is very nice being able to walk to both parks. Your kids will love the activities that are avalable in the Community Hall. Video games, air hockey, ping pong etc.. and there is no cost to use it.

My husband always favored the BW, but after purchasing BC, he loves it. You have great access to all the BW amenities, but with a little less noise and activity. The pool is the best on property. We enjoy being close to Epcot and we also will walk to the Studios. You should try it. It is as great as the WL, but totally different!

What do you like about BWV??
Everything!!! In all honesty I can not think of one thing I do not like at BWV, as if that is a surprise to anyone! LOL!! :)
I love all the WDW Epcot resorts because of their wonderful location. IMO, they are in the best, most convenient location in WDW. Although MK resorts are located in a great location also, the Epcot resorts have even more of a location advantage due to the fact that they are very conveniently located to 2 major parks, many more great restaurants, 2 nighttime shows at the parks, nighttime entertainment and clubs, mini golf and wonderful pools. I have stayed many times in resorts all over WDW and I have never found any resort as convenient to so much as an Epcot resort is.
The resorts themselves are beautiful in every detail from the landscaping to the room decor. There are numerous dining, entertainment and sport options available to please all guests ranging from the kids up to adults. The resorts offer full deluxe resort amenities and customer service and guest pampering to the hilt.
Although I love YC/BC & BWI very much I prefer BWV because of the villas vs a hotel room. I have yet to stay at BCV, I will be staying there for the first time in Sept., but I am sure I will love BCV also

Being in the middle of all the action with fellow owners is nice. Amenities are great, try out Jelly Rolls, it's a lot of fun. Workout room is nice, views are great, the boardwalk Inn lounge is nice. Wlking distance to so many restaraunts like those in the Dolphin is nice.

Location, the Bellevue Lounge, the lights on the entranceway at night, its proximity to Jellyrolls.

The liveliness - this place rocks day or night! We go during the 4th of July week and this place is incredible. Love the proximity to Epcot, MGM - the ability to walk vs. take the boat. Watching the fireworks from the balcony or from the boardwalk. The scenery, the atmosphere, the excitement - it's all here at BWV (nice advertisement ;) )

Another vote for the BWV.

When you are lucky enough to get a Boardwalk/Fireworks view, you have the best of the best. But everywhere else is great too because the resort is just so nice.

It's wonderful to be so close to Epcot and MGM - to be able to walk or boat when you are tired.

The main pool with the happy clown face slide is great for kids and if you want quiet time, just wander over to the quiet pool.

The nightlife is cheerful and fun. I have read that the boardwalk buskers (the entertainment) have been scaled back to three nights a week (i think th, F S?).

The Boardwalk has an old fashioned feel. It's very different from other resorts.

The bakery is to die for in the morning and the ice cream/sweets shop is a great way to end a long day.

It's my favorite place to be in the World. It will definately be a very different experience from VWL. Hope you enjoy.

Prior to purchasing DVC, my Mother and I always stayed at Wilderness Lodge (pre-villas). We loved it there, and were going to wait until the villas were done and purchase there. However, they were still about a year or so away from being complete, so I purchased BWV instead. I liked Boardwalk, but my Mom wasn't originally too keen on it.

Now, she can't imagine staying anywhere else! Please don't take this as a slam against WLV. It isn't....because they are beautiful.

For us, we really love the convenience of being so close to EPCOT and MGM. There is always something going on at the Boardwalk, and if nothing else, a great place to people watch. There are more restaurants in the area, with easy access to Beach Club/Yacht Club, Swan, Dolphin and all of their restaurants.

Just wanted to let you know that we loved Wilderness Lodge, but have never regretted our decision to make BWV our home. I think you will enjoy your trip there. I think your children will really enjoy it.

PS.....I still love the lobby at Wilderness Lodge....still makes me feel like home!

Although this does not directly answer your question, I have a suggestion for you. Maybe you can visit twice a year so you can enjoy each one. We own at BWV and VWL and love BWV for our December trip so we can walk to Candlelight Processional. Last summer we stayed at VWL and at BWV the summer before. We prefer VWL in the summer. For some reason it feels cooler to us. Maybe it is that the lake is larger. We pool hopped last summer to BWV and looked at BCV, but was happy to return to VWL. We are trying BCV this July for a few days to compare, but I have a feeling we will be back at VWL for next summer. Our upcoming December trip is already booked at BWV!

Within walking distance of TWO Major parks, tons of restaurants, Fantasia Golf.

Great Nightlife, yet you don't feel like your living in grand central station.

You know how your tired at the end of the day, and head back to your room after the park you were in has closed -- but then it's only 9 - 9:30 or even 10. When you stay at the boardwalk there is still someplace to go. We love wallking home from Illuminations or Fantasmic and walking up the Boardwalk. My kids love the entertainment, pin trading, we grab a snack, cup of coffee, ice cream, pizza, etc. Sometimes only one parent will stay down with one kid, and the other one will go back to the room if someone is tired.

Great theme pool, with a fun slide. Good quiet pool. Community hall with free rentals for DVC members -- Great staff for kids activities (how about Jeff!). Free ping pong, fuss ball, video games.

We stayed at the VWL once in Dec, and as much as we loved it, we all wished we were "home". We decided that we enjoyed visiting the lodge, but don't want to stay there again anytime soon. I'm looking forward to having a nice dinner at Artists Point and enjoying the lobby, but then going home. That is something we have come to realize with the deluxe resorts as well, we like to visit the Grand Floridian, Poly, etc for the afternoon or evening, but we don't have any desire to stay there.

Next weekend we are arriving at the BCV for the first time, our other home, but we are all a little nerous that we will miss the BWV like last time.

Wow..thanks for all these wonderful replies!!

You know, as I reread this, I thought to myself "How selfish can I be? I am going to WDW and not 110% excited about where we are going to stay!!" Yikes!!!! I guess each time we have stayed at VWL it has been positively perfect and I never wanted to change.

I know we will have a terrific time. I like BeckyV's idea..go twice/year!!

I was thinking, we have a Saturday night before we fly out that we will need a cash ressie for. Maybe I can get a great rate on a room at WL for that one last night after Vero. Best of all worlds!!!!

I KNOW we will have a wonderful time.

Thanks again!
