What DO you leave in your stroller?

Obviously, no wallet, ipads, merchandise, etc.

Do you leave jackets? Food? Water bottles?

I'm not sure if I should stuff all our things in a backpack and haul it around, or just leave them in the bottom of the stroller and assume no one is interested in taking our rain coats or snacks.....

Thanks!

Food would definitely be targeted by squirrels if left accessible under a stroller. Basically don't leave anything behind that you would be upset about losing. Thieves won't necessarily take the time to rifle through your things looking for items of value. They'll grab and go, and perhaps ditch unwanted items later.

We had friends who left their little DDs backpack in the stroller. It was gone when they returned. Nothing of high value, except to the little girl. :(

We leave jackets, other types of clothes (when dressing in layers), drinks/snacks if they're closed up. Sometimes things we've bought, but only if they are inexpensive and small enough to hide under jackets.

Everything else comes with us in a backpack. I am shocked by the things I see some people leave in their strollers!!

We leave snacks (in zip lock bags), drinks, ponchos, sunscreen in the stroller but take cameras and wallets with us. I have left merchandise but I bury it under all the other stuff so it cannot be seen.

Yeah, We had the whole stroller taken one time. Glad it was a cheap umbrella type and no major items in it. But still.....

We go to Disney about once every two months (live just hour away and DVC members) and for the past 7 years with our kids and have to say, we leave a LOT in our strollers! Not valuables like you said of phones, etc but all the jackets, food, toys, blankets, ponchos, jackets. Maybe we are just lucky but we have never had an incident with it. But we generally always park in the marked stroller parking areas which the Cast members usually monitor (and by monitor, move the strollers all the time!). Anything can happen anywhere, of course, but as long as nothing truly valuable is visible it should be okay.

We did the same countless times over a 6 year period with our boys and never had an incident. We only used umbrella strollers, but often left stuff hanging off of the handles in Disney merchandise bags. I guess that we were lucky, but we would do it again.

By the time we were done with strollers, we left NOTHING. These are experiences at Disneyland; by the time we went to WDW DS had no interest in the stroller.

DS had a brand new pirate hat stolen from underneath a ratty old sweatshirt. Then we had a balloon taken off the handle (the ribbon and the balloon holder thing were left, so someone spent time to get the balloon out of it (and no there were no balloon shreds in the holder to indicate it had popped). Both times the items were easily replaced OR worth nothing (the balloon wasn't a purchased one). Both times it felt HORRIBLE to have had something stolen from us.

We then watched squirrels climbing up into strollers, gnawing at food packets and *licking* the caps of water bottles. After that we got an Igloo MaxCold insulated backpack and we carried *everything* with us.

Yep.

Same.

Maybe we are just lucky but we have never had an incident with it.

Lucky.

There are tons of strollers and likely not tons of criminals, so in such a crowd of strollers the chances of one person being stolen from is low. But there's the chance!

For me, having something stolen is enough. It's worse if you have to replace it; even worse if it was expensive. But just knowing that someone stole *anything* from me feels bad enough.

We left the ponchos, an extra set of clothes for the little one, and park maps in the stroller. If DH wanted his own sunscreen, he would sometimes stash it there too - but that's about it. Snacks, drinks, sunscreen, and sunglasses were all in my backpack. Extra stuff in the bottom means it's harder to fold up.

We left jackets and diaper changing supplies, and hung water bottles from a carabiner on the the handle. I wouldn't leave snacks for the reasons the PPs mentioned. jackets were only left occasionally..we generally don't make a habit of leaving anything that we aren't absolutely OK with disappearing.

We left the diaper bag and water bottles in the stroller. When possible, we parked the stroller with the storage compartment facing the wall so the diaper bag wouldn't be easy to grab. I wasn't worried about it though.

We left our "diaper bag" (which for this trip was just a black and inconspicuous tote) under the stroller with our jackets. Our diaper bag did have a few snacks in completely closed containers and water bottles in it.

Because it was few weeks ago and we had warm weather, chilly weather, sunny weather and rainy weather, our stroller storage space was jam packed with jackets and ponchos etc. Even I had a hard time getting our bag out at times.

Bottom line, we never left phones, cameras, or wallets, but did leave jackets and supplies.

If you're worried about your bag you can always loop it to your stroller with a bike lock, but we did not do this. If someone stole our cheap bag we were using for this trip we wouldn't have been crushed.

We left our merchandise, and backpack cooler, diaper bag stuff. Wallet, camera etc... were always on us
Same. When we used a stroller we left everything but our wallets in it. Our belongings were fine

We didn't bring snacks or food so no temptation to critters. We watched some scavenging though

So, about these squirrels... people are describing them as evil geniuses or something. Are they gnawing through zip lock bags or actually unzipping stuff?
