What do you know about E85?

Our new car can take this E85 gas that has ethanol in it. It is quite a bit cheaper, but I want to make sure using it is not a bad choice. Cany you use it sometimes and reg gas other times? Is it the same efficiency? Any reasons strongly pro or against?

Never heard of E85 and have not seen it around here. Is it widely available near you?

hi,
It's ethanol mixed with the gas,usally 85-90% gas and 10-15% e85.in nyc every gas station is required to use it.it makes the emissions cleaner,so they say.i have had no choice to add it to my car since every gas station uses it.i would say i never noticed a difference when i started using it in my car.although the pick up seemed sluggish for around a day or two,but i'm not sure it the e 85 was causing it.
