What do you do with your credit card information when you travel?

I know you are supposed to call the credit card company if your card is lost or stolen. So, before you call you need to have 2 things handy - your account number and your company's phone number. Where do you keep this information when you travel? Obviously, it doesn't help you if it is in your wallet with the lost/stolen card. Do you leave it in the safe at the resort? With a family member at home? At home in a safe place where a family member can easily get to it with your direction, but won't be privy to it without your direction?

Please help!

Can't help you with that. We've never worried about it before. Probably should of. Another thing to pur on my list.

I leave myself a message on my voice mail with the info. If anything is lost or stolen then I just need to call and retreive the message. :)

If you're not organized the hotel can give you the 800 number for the credit card companies. They can look up your account number from you name/address/ss number.

I go through my wallet before I go and leave most of the stuff home. Drivers license and 2 credit cards is all I need. No reason to take store credit cards, library card and the like.

I photocopy our drivers licenses, CC's and passports and leave with my parents.

Very sad to say but I know my cc number and the number for the cc company by heart because I lose my cc so often....This year has been especially bad....I've missplaced it again and I'm embarassed to call and cancel and request a new card but I leaveon vacation in 6 days...

I photocopy the fronts and backs of my IDs, credit cards, ATM card, and park pass before I leave home.

While travelling, this info is in my laptop bag (which NEVER leaves my posession - I don't even walk 3 feet away from it in the airport) and the cards are in my wallet (which stays in a pocket with a button flap to prevent accidental loss).

Once I arrive in Orlando, I put the photocopies into the hotel safe, along with at least one credit card and some cash, so I won't be broke if my wallet is lost or stolen.

But being paranoid and obsessive about such things has helped, because I have never lost a wallet, an ID card, a park pass, or any kind of money card. They are far too important for me to treat carelessly, and so far I have been lucky enough to never have been the target of a pick-pocket.

I on the other had am the complete opposite...So, until Amex says the will never send me another card, I'll just keep replacing the lost cards, which are usually found after the new card arrives...

I too photocopy the front and back of all important docs and leave in the safe. I have found that it is worth the effort.........I have to do my part to eliminate worries on vacation.
