What do you do with gift receipts?

How can you tactfully give them to the recipient? I've been taping them to the inside of the card, but I've never seen anyone else do that and I'm wondering if it was tacky?

I tape them to the box or tuck them in the bag too.

I tape it to the box or put it in the card

I tape it inside the box or if I'm using a gift bag I tuck it inside the item.

If it's someone I'm close to, I hand them the gift receipt after giving the gift. If it's a kid's party, then it is usually a toy and I would not give them a gift receipt. People seem to rarely take the time to return such gifts, and unless the child just blurted out that he/she already had that one, then I wouldn't offer the gift receipt.

I have seen people tape it into cards but I usually put it on the box, in the box, or in the gift bag.

I really aprreciate when there is a gift recepit. I dont want to return gifts, in fact I feel guilty when I do,but we have gotten duplicates whether it was my bridal shower, baby shower, or kids bday parties and it just makes life so much easier.

I put it in an envelope, label it GIFT RECEIPT and put it in w/the gift.

Now-a-days (did I just type that?,) without a gift receipt you have to just keep or re-gift a duplicate item (and I try to keep kids from "blurting" the fact that it's duplicate.) I think it's rude to ask for one, but not rude at all to give one. I have put it in the card, or taped to the toy.

:rotfl: I usually lose it in my Bermuda Triangle purse shortly after the cashier hands it to me.

I tape it right to the gift.

On the receipt, I also write what the item is (if it's not noted on the gift receipt itself).
One time, after his b-day party, DS had a gift receipt in the pile with the b-day cards.
The receipt didn't note what the gift was, so I had no idea what it was for or who it was from. :confused3

I don't think it's tacky at all... I've gotten lots of gifts from people that included the gift receipt.

When giving to someone else, I usually tape it right to the gift itself instead of the card in case it gets separated somehow.

I tape it to the gift itself. Especially anything I purchase at Toys R Us, since they will no longer do returns without a receipt.

I guess I've been afraid to tape it to the gift itself in case the receipt gets ripped off with the wrapping paper. I like the idea of putting it in an envelope first labeled receipt and then taping it to the gift. I guess I'll try it that way next time.
