What do you do when you stumble on a good deal?

Good question!! I just got an awesome deal at Bath and Body Works. They are having their semi-annual sale. I got lots of stuff either 50% or 72% off and they gave me a $10 off a $30 coupon. So I stocked up and went to 2 different ones. I now have 5 Christmas gifts for my DD14 friends, hand soap for the bathroom and a couple if things just because for DD and I. I got I got about $140 worth of stuff for $55. Pretty good, I may go back this week-end. They sasid they might mark stuff down to 90% off.

I personally bought DD a pair in her current size and every size larger (10-16) in two different colors. I spent $20 for eight pairs. That's often the cost of one pair. Totally worth it even if she decides one size down the road she doesn't like them. I always buy a size or two off the clearance rack (DD approves the style first) and at rummage sales and have a bin in the closet that we go through at the beginning of every season to see what she has and needs. Rarely do things go unworn and if they do I'm not too upset.

I would jump on it. I did that all the time when the kids were littler, doesn't seem to happen with bigger kids clothes :confused3 My feeling was, if for some reason they didn't end up wearing them, I could donate them or pass them on, without much loss to me, while blessing someone else. Actually, if I catch baby stuff, sometimes I scoop some up and donate it.

consumables for growing kids...yes. to a a point. I buy what I know we'll use, when I see a deal (i'm usually shopping 2nd hand, this is the only way to shop this way and get what you need)- so If I see jeans my kids can wear,I know they're still growing, and will use them. So I stock up what we need. i.e.- they'll outgrow/wear out their current clothes,so this saves money in the end- the only caveat is assessing what you actually need and will use.....which takes experience,or you will waste a TON of money stockpiling junk you don't actually use.(reality-most stockpilers I know of do this)
I am now at a point in my life where I don't buy every deal I see,not even most of them....just what I know for sure we'll use!
for instance, when I go to Savers and find 10 t-shirts for 1.00 each for my kids, even though it's January,I but them, and then I don't need to buy them t-shirts in June...thus saving money....:thumbsup2

I don't usually buy NWT (it's more in line with our beliefs to "recycle" used clothing... If it will get used, I buy it. We don't hoard, but I do have 4 "like" bottles of shampoo in teh cabinet downstairs, simply because they were $1.87

Like the others said, enjoy it... better to "waste" an extra pair of $3 jeans in the long run than to have to pay $18/pair when you're in dire need...

:thumbsup2 yes.....:thumbsup2

Well, no luck at my local target but I did get some good coupon deals so it wasn't a waste.

Also had to go to TRU to use rewards $ to find they were having sales too. 30% additional off clearance prices.. Found these brown mary jane shoes for $3.00 before additional, figures why not buy there size now and the size 9 that were left. They came out to be $1.70 for each pair. Heck, I'll donate if she never wears them but I'm hoping come size 9 they will still work.

I would certainly jump on a jean deal like that. I have 2 boys and jeans are a staple around here. I jump on deals like that when I find them. I will buy ahead on kids clothing when it is basics like jeans, sweats and t-shirts. Shoes or seasonal items then no because I never know what will fit. As for food stuff I will as long as I know we will eat it before it goes bad. When it comes to things like shampoo and printer paper etc I limit myself to what we would use in about 6 months to a year depending on the item. I will also keep an eye on sales for Christmas, Birthdays etc.

I will buy a few of whatever, as long as it is a product that we can and will use. I love a bargain:)

DS16 and I were at Target on Wednesday and they had their men's Levi's clearanced to $9.98. Not as good a deal as the OP, but brand-name jeans for my DS for school for under $10? We bought 2 pair and were thrilled.:thumbsup2

I also texted my girlfriends about the deal.

I'd definitely jump on it. My DD takes ballet & is required to wear a black leotard. If I'm at our local thrift store & see a leotard that will fit at some point in the next few years & is in good shape I grab it. With ballet 4 days/week & rehearsals every night & weekends during Nutcracker season we need several. Given that we really can't do used for shoes or tights I appreciate being able to save money on leotards.

Bought my son a polo shirt for 3.28 at Old Navy and tonight 2 bath mats at Bed, Bath and Beyond for 4.99 each.
