What do you do when you have 1 parent and 2 kids at Tomorrowland Speedway?

Only seats 2 but neither child is tall enough to go alone. Will a CM ride with the extra child?

No, they can't. Nor can CMs watch one child while the parent rides with the other.

In this case, you may simply have to pass up the Speedway this time around and wait until your children are older.

If 1 kid is really small could you squish all 3 of you in 1 car? If I remember right from last week, DS, 4 and I had a lot of extra room in the car, but I dont know if that would even be allowed.

Thats too bad. Whenever we've had that problem for IOA/US kiddie coasters (can ride but not alone), a CM rode with my oldest.

don't do what we did this year. There were 2 adults in our party (both of us dads of course) and we had 4 kids with us. We each took one of the youngest to ride the speedway with us, which left the oldest 2 to ride by themselves (ages 8 & 7). Not a major deal, but we should have put the 2 of them riding in a car between our 2 cars. Instead, they were in front of us. By the time we got back to the exit, they were nowhere to be found! After frantically running around the area for about 3 minutes screaming their names (and imagining the creative ways our wives were going to kill us), dad #2 found a cm working the line at indy speedway who told him that our girls wanted to ride around again so he just let them go! Not really his fault, but man were we relieved when they came back around.

So, if you ever need to put kids by themselves in a car on indy speedway, put them behind you, not in front!

I'm surprised they let them do that. It's a huge insurance thing for most theme parks. If something had happened to your child, and it was a CM in the ride with him and not a family member or parent, that could have caused problems all around.

They rode with my oldest b/c he didn't meet the height requirements but were also fine with sticking him with another kid, anyone large enough to ride alone could ride with a kid too small to ride alone. Only once did it end up he rode with a non-CM person (an older lady that must have been a "third" in their party). It was early so there weren't many riders --- maybe if they had solo rider opportunities they would have placed him with them. It seemed pretty standard procedure as they did it on flying unicorn and woody woodpecker. I just didn't know how much to appreciate it until now!

A followup question. If we have 3 adults and 4 kids (all too short to go alone), will they allow one adult to "reride" to handle the odd kid?

This is our least favorite attraction in WDW (that's unanimous in my family of 4). What a great excuse not to wait on that long, hot line!

I believe it's only 2 to a car--- no matter the extra room on this one. If DS and I have to go separate on anything-- I always go first. Especially on waterslides. This way I know I left him in next in line-- pretty much ready to get on w/ the CM-- and I'll be there at the exit the minute he gets off.

Personally, I would just skip the speedway this time. Gives you a reason to start planning the next trip.

You can ride 3 to a car.
Our boys have just turned 7 and 5 and had to ride with an adult.
DW stayed behind with DD, but both DSs wanted to ride.

I sat in the middle and let them take turns steering.

Not perfect, but it works.
