What do you do when you can't sleep?

I was just thinking this would be a good topic!!:lmao:

To answer your question, I DIS!!:cool1:, while I watch Nancy Grace or something else on TV. I mainly DIS though. :goodvibes

Go make a Facebook account... ;)

Im surprised you can't sleep... Most people I know were walking dead the first trimester.

I tried watching tv but with all the channels we have, nothing catches my interest. I like Ghost Adventurers, but I'm home alone and I don't want to get spooked in an empty house. I got the Walking Dead Compendium for Christmas, but I can't bring myself to read it at night when I'm alone. I'm thinking a couple of glasses of wine, but I'm pregnant so I don't know. All my friends and family are asleep by now I assume, so no phone chats. My SIL offered to spend the night with me (my husband is away, job related) but I really feel like being alone right now. I could bake a cake?! lol

Yeah I'm very tired, but hubby is away with his job so I guess I'm feeling some anxiety about it thats preventing me from falling into a restful sleep.

About the FB account, I was never into that kind of thing. Until I joined this board, my only computer activity was work-related, looking for creative ideas for my K class. I'd do a FB book I'm worried about privacy issues. I learned some hard lessons about putting too much personal info on the internet and I'm done with that suffering. I'll have to learn how to make it private, but I've heard there are ways around that for people to get in and see my info and photos.

:rotfl2: I know, there is nothing on TV tonight at all. It's funny you said that you could bake a cake, because I am trying to keep from hitting the kitchen for some ice cream that I have been avoiding. :lmao: I am supposed to be on a diet. Oh, and NO wine for you.

How are you feeling? I remember reading your thread about having morning sickness right after conception. I know that I had it for sure then, and it lasted until I was about 3 or 4 months. I found that putting crackers right by my bed and eating a couple just before I got out of bed helped some. :)

Also, facebook is way over rated. I only have it to watch my childrens accounts.

I'm still feeling it, and it's getting worse, actually waking me up early in the morning. But I must have true "morning" sickness because it usually goes away after I've been up for a while. Thank you for asking.

We have a private family website where I share news and photos with close friends and extended family, so I really don't "need" a FB.

Ok I'm giving myself 5 more minutes and then into bed I go. I'll put the all-night sports call-in talk show and get a heads up about the big game this weekend. Not that I really care, but at least it'll "keep me company".

Oh and I'll make myself a cup of hot decaf sugarfree vanilla cappuccino with whipped cream on top. I think the warmth in my stomach may help me fall asleep. The only problem is that I'll probably wake up in an hour to pee! Drat!

Hopefully it won't last to long. That's an awful feeling, but it will be worth it in the end. :thumbsup2

I am out of here too!! I have got to try to get some sleep.:upsidedow

Well they (whoever they are I'm still not sure) say that to help with a restful sleep you should take a nice warm bath a few hours before bed. Then follow up by putting on some soft music and maybe a nice scented lotion (lavander to calm you) and imagine yourself in a place that makes you happy.

What I do? I stay up until my eyes can't stay open anymore and my brain doesn't want to function. Then I put on Playhouse Disney around 5am (Hey, you are going to be a mommy, might as well get used to it now) and let the sounds of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Handy Manny lull me off to sleep.

Hope you got some sleep and congrats on the pregnancy! If it is a girl...Tanya is a lovely name! ;-)

I DIS, too. After awhile of sitting at the computer I start getting tired again and can go back to sleep.

Melatonin.
And if I am under abnormal stress, I have taken it during the day. (I have used it a few times during the day after having a pet put down.)
For me Melatonin just quiets the nerves.
I use it on nights where I am tired/sleepy, but the day plays through my head.
Melatonin comes in different strengths too. (1 mg, 3 mg, more? :confused3 )
It will not act like a sleeping pill. You can function if needed. ANd it wears off in 2 - 3 hours.

Adding those who are pregnant might want to go to a herbal stores and see if there are other items. I know there is lots of herbs used for sleeplessness or nerves. I just can't say any worked for me. But I think it also depends on how sensitive a person's system is too.

You do know that decaf coffee and capuccino still have caffeine, right?

Mug of chamomile tea or warm milk and a good book. Get cozy on the couch and read until nodding off.
