Every time I go on the Kali River Rapids I always get soaked. The worse part is wet pants. I think I wore a poncho once and still got wet. Anybody have some suggestions on how to stay a little dryer?

Don't pick the magic seat, lol. If a poncho doesn't work I'm not sure what would help. I can deal with wet pants especially in the heat, but not wet shoes so I bring flip flops and put my feet up during the drop.

Ah after all these years if I could only not pick that magic seat, lol. Plus it would be nice not going down the falls backwards too.

I wear a poncho and pick up my feet once we start going lol. I wish there was a way to tell which is the "magic" seat.

I use a poncho, but really only wrap it around my waist and shorts. The shirt can get wet for all I care, but I don't wanna be in wet shorts. I use ziplock bags for my wallet and other items I want to keep dry.

If you go on NOT wanting to get wet .. you will somehow get the magic seat :)

When I go on these rides .. they are usually in theme parks with water parks inside. I either wear my swimsuit onto the ride (and then just go over to the waterpark) OR I just hit that ride before we go to the water park and dry my wet clothes in the locker room of the waterpark with the blow dryers.

At Disney I can only suggest quick dry clothes or a change of clothes.

Wet pants :)!

We made Kali our last ride of the day and planned to just head back to the car soaked. It turned out it was raining just a tiny bit when we went to get on so we did put on ponchos. We remained dry. Gosh, the guy in the hot seat though....I don't believe any number of ponchos could have prevented him from getting wet. We still headed out after the ride but since it had stopped raining we tossed our ponchos and went back to the time share perfectly dry.

ETA: I did end up on the hot seat the next day at Sea World and Journey. I got soaked to the bone, my pants were sticking to me. I had made sure to wear quick drying clothes so I wasn't uncomfortable for too long. I got lots of sympathetic (at least I like to think that is what they were) looks for an hour or so!

Not going on it seems like a reasonable option.

"The worse part is the wet parts"

...really?
Actually I really like the attraction so skipping it is not really an option. However I'm not sure what is so weird about not enjoying walking around with wet pants especially when going back into air conditioned shows etc...

I think this is one letter confusion, parts/pants...............not liking the wet parts vs the wet pants.

- Make sure the poncho is under you, not just over you (ie you're sitting on the bottom part of the poncho). If you just sit down without tucking the bottom part under you, yes you'll have wet pants.

- Put your feet up on the circular rail. Helps a lot with wet shoes (especially if you're lucky and don't end up in the backwards part). If your feet are on the "floor" of the raft, you'll have wet shoes no matter where you are.

The whole point of the ride is to get wet. If you don't want to get wet then ride It's A Small World instead.

Does your poncho have holes in it? It's so strange that you would still get wet while wearing a poncho. I personally don't mind getting my clothes wet I mean its a water rapids ride, isn't the point to get soaked? lol for me I try to protect my hair and HATE sitting on a wet seat so I use a poncho with the hood on my head and sit on the body part so I don't get my butt all wet. I look silly but it gets the job done!

Nothing. Getting wet is kind of the point of the ride. Like the signs say, "you will get wet, you may get soaked." Cheers!!!!

My recommendation would just be to bring a change of clothes to store in the lockers for free. That and be sure to change into flip flops beforehand if you're wearing sneakers.
