What do you do the day you arrive to WDW?

I always fly in early, and I go to a park as soon as I put my carry on stuff in the room or check it with bell services if my room isn't ready.
I have had good luck, my room has almost always been ready when I have checked in. (Usually around 10-11am)
Next month when my son and I go for his 21st b-day, we are going to Hollywood studios the first day.
Studios is half a day park for us, so it will work out perfectly this trip.

In the fall I am bringing 2 married friends of mine. It will be their 1st visit and I will be playing tour guide (which I love doing)
We aren't flying in until 5p so that evening I am taking them to Disney Springs.

Drop our carry on luggage at the bell hop and head over to Epcot to eat lunch at the Biergarten. We then go back and get into our resort room and head over to the MK so my wife can see the castle the first day. :) Pretty simple plan.

Since I fly in from overseas, and the flight route often goes over Newark (for immigrations) and then domestic to Orlando. I usually come in quite late in the evening, and am understandably quite exhausted from a full day of traveling, waiting, checking in and changing flights. :crazy2:

I always get checked in at the resort, knowing that DME has my luggage on the room already, I grab a quick evening snack and crash by the pool area... Just to soak in the fact that I have finally arrived! :earsboy:

Day 2...I hit DTD/DS, since I am most often still a bit jet lagged. :smickey:

Day 3 after sleeping off the travels and fought the time difference I'm more ready than ever to hit the parks. And always Magic Kingdom first. :tink:

Hello everyone!

(I posted this in the PTR forum too, oops! :P)

Just a note:
I am back! *hold the applause!* So, I did a horrible job with my first PTR that was supposed to lead to a TR. So, I want to make it up by doing amazingly at this trip.

Any who, I have a question for all of you!

What do you folks do the first day that you arrive at your WDW resort to start vacation? Parks? Disney Springs? Pool?

I just want to get some ideas. I've done different things every trip and want to get some ideas for a future trip/ I'm going to be traveling with someone who has only been there once and only when they were younger! So I'm going to be a guide basically. I have some ideas, but I would love to see what other people do!

We relax by the pool. Go out for a nice dinner and get to bed early so we can hit the park early the next day.

Usually we go shopping. Last trip was the first time we didn't have a rental car, so unless we booked a taxi, we didn't have much options, so we headed to Disney Springs. I guess that is considered shopping too lol.

This time, for the first time ever, on arrival day we will be heading to a park. MK for the MNSSHP. :D

I'll be down in Orlando for business in the Disney Springs area for a few days before our official vacation starts, so I plan on taking an Uber over to Beach Club, stowing my luggage with Bell Svcs, and grabbing an Uber back to MCO to meet my wife and kids when they come in around 12:30. Once we get back to the resort on ME, we'll probably hit the pool until the room is ready, explore the property, then head over to Boardwalk for a 5:30 reservation at Trattoria. Then, since the kids (2 & 4) will have been up since o-dark-thirty, it's early to bed for the parks the next day.

We used to head straight to Downtown Disney for some light shopping and a sandwich at The Earl. Now we head to MK for a quick ride on 7DMT and a few other rides, a quick meal at Cosmic Rays and then scout out a spot to watch the castle shows and Wishes.

A meal at the resort and then off to Disney Springs!

After 8 hours in the car it's usually late and we aren't ready for rides in a park yet.

This is us usually. We're psyched to do something, but getting too old to do a drive AND a park in the same day. :P If it's been a longer drive than normal, we'll just hang at the resort and charge up for the next day. :crutches:

We check in if possible to our hotel, get lunch at the food court, and I put the kids down for a nap. My husband goes to pick up our rental car from the car care center, then goes to Target to get diapers, wipes, snacks, sunscreen, and drinks. Then once that is all done, we usually head to a park in the evening and get dinner there.
