What do you do in the park when it rains?

There are supposed to be scattered showers this Friday.

What does everyone do when it rains? This most likely means no fireworks

I put on my poncho, and enjoy the nice, short lines since everyone else will be heading for their hotels, or opting to stay home that day. Rainy days at Disneyland are the best!

Get wet! ;) There was a year we went and it rained quite a bit. We dressed warmly and had umbrellas I believe.

I'd never leave though, never miss time I can be in the park! Especially when it rains because the lines become quite short! :)

When it rains, there are hardly any lines and it seems like you get the characters all to yourself. Take a poncho and enjoy an entirely different experience at the park.

I dress warmer and I walk much slower.
Some of the pathways are quite slick when wet.
:upsidedow

Unlike past years, during the 50th and since it seems... unless it's a torrential downpour... the rain doesn't affect the crowds or the lines much.
:sad1:

Not many of the people in 2007 who are willing to spend the current price for a day at DL and/or DCA... and are willing to walk out of the parks and/or go home due to some or any, or even a lot of rain nowdays.

And the Disneyland Resort isn't Knotts Barely Farm... only a few attractions at DL and DCA close in a drizzle or worse... not the whole park and not for the entire rest of the day after a drizzle... :rotfl2:

Prior to 2005/DL's 50th, I really loved rainy days at DL and would sometimes plan a day to go just based on rain forecasts..., but since the 50th, it seems like they are just another day, whether peak season or off season.
Just wetter.
:sad2:

Still a fun day to go... but the park most likely won't be as ghost town as it always was in the past.

Rain is good in both DL and CA, and also DW, lines are so short that lines are usually non-ex, I love it when it does rain, that is usually the best times to hit all the rides that you usually have to wait long for

So they do allow umbrellas? I've got a poncho, but the darn things get sweaty fast.

It's a LIE! It does not rain here ;)

If it does, which would be a stinkin miracle, take advantage of it! Drizzle scares people away, which cracks me up, and you'll have the park to yourself. We actually used to intentionally GO when it was supposed to rain (before we had a child to worry about) and spend all day there in the rain riding rides over and over because there were no lines. I'd save Nemo for when it rains and bring your poncho/umbrella. We used to have waterproof jogging suits we'd wear, not the most stylish but we were dry!

Go on the water rides (hey, you're wet anyways right?), and anything that usually has a long line outdoors. If it really rains, things that spin outdoors will likely stop running, Dumbo closes as does the Teacups sometimes along with those rocket thingys, and in DCA several of the outdoor rides close. The monorail is really fun when it rains. It's neat to see either the sea of yellow Mickey ponchos that people paid $10 for because they were not prepared, or see the walkways empty because everyone is hiding indoors.

I wouldn't get my hopes up though... I kinda doubt any water will make it to the ground here, and the forecast says only at night. I was able to find showers ion accuweather.com, but our local forecast is still not making any mention of rain Friday.

RAIN??? 40% chance of rain, plus much cooler temps.

OK.....Guess I repack a bit. Shorts and T's guess I'll take a pair of jeans.

It's the first day of the Halloween stuff, maybe the locals will stay away....

dude, the last time it rained was BEFORE Summer... WE WANT RAAAAAAAAIN!!!

Rain wont stop fireworks though. if its lite, it will go... BUT it will stop Fantasmic because the fear the CMs might slip and fall.

^^ Thats true :P

i remember standing by photopass watching the crowds go back and forth... :P

opening, people crowded in. the first instant of rain, people crowded out. 1 hr later, rain stopped, people crowded in. rain again, people crowded out... then it stopped raining and people crowded in.

LOL LOL LOL!

That sounds like good material for a sitcom! It always makes us laugh, but we love it!

It always seems to rain when we go..........it's great!

Lol - us too, but we go in October typically. Last year though was so ridiculously warm that we had to buy more short sleeved shirts while we were there!
