I do this, too, but only if it is a super mad, pi$$ed off kind of stress. I get in the car, turn it up so loud I know the people around me can hear it, and envision myself flooring it LOL I do manage to keep pretty close to the speed limit but I drive and drive until I'm all calmed down.
My #1 thing: I clean when I'm stressed out. I clean the house like crazy.
Eat some chocolate.
Go for a walk.
Talk to a friend.
Listen to smooth jazz.
I have a few pairs of really goofy socks. When things are super crazy I wear them. It's like a signal, "Watch out, mom's wearing her goofy socks. She's stressed out." And we laugh about it.
I love to put on a book on CD and distract myself with either errands in the car or stuff in the kitchen, if I'm in the kitchen a shot of Butterscotch Schnapps always makes me feel groovy, after a while the knot of aggravation is gone and I'm all who can be mad with Butterscotch Schnapps to sip?
