What do you do during the transition time when doing back to back cruises??

We're doing back to back Wonder cruises next April and I'm wondering what it's like on board during the transition time. My travel agent said we don't have to disembark, but we have to stay out of the way while they prep the ship for the next sailing. Anyone else done back to back cruises? What did you do during this tranisition time. Can you stay in your cabin, sit out by the pools, any other suggestions?

When we did a three-peat on the Wonder, we spent most of our time on the deck 7 aft verandah. It took a while for the pools to be filled, and when they were, the water was COLD! We didn't stay in our stateroom much, as they crank LOUD music into the rooms. I suspect it's to encourage the stateroom hosts/hostesses to clean them fast so they can escape it as well :p

I thought that you would be down on your hands and knees scrubbing away at the ship like the rest of the crew.:earseek:

We have never done this (but I would love to). I remember someone writing that they did laundry during this time, so maybe the laundry rooms are open and that would be a good time to get the clothes washed up.

What is the advantage of doing back to back Wonder cruises instead of one week long cruise on the Magic?

Actually, I think it is usually more costly to do back to back Wonder cruises. You will get two stops at CC, and two chances to see each show.

I would rather go on 1 seven night, than 2 back to back Wonders----BUT I would LOVE to do back to back 7 nights (Western and Eastern).

I can think of a couple potential advantages, though I have not done this myself: 1) two stops at Castaway Cay (not as big a deal with some of the new Magic itineraries); 2) some people just prefer the Wonder, though the ships are similar; 3) Sunday to Sunday may be a lot better schedule for some people than Saturday to Saturday.

Hmmm, something to think about. We are booked for back-to-back cruises on the Magic in August 2006 so I know I'll have to do laundry at some point. We've even thought about going to the Space Center.

We did back to back Magic cruises last February. First of all, let me say it was absolutely wonderful, and not a day too long... In fact, when we were disembarking after our 2nd week (to spend a week a WDW), my daughter asked if we couldn't just stay aboard for a third week on the shift...

This is what we did in between cruises...

LAUNDRY ... This was really no big deal because I had the laundry room to myself, and used all of the washing machines at once, then threw everything into the dryers at the same time, so it was all done at the same time...

NAP ... We also tried to nap (we didn't have any music blaring in our room) but we kept getting interrupted by staff who were bringing us gifts ... first the Castaway Club gift, then we had booked REAS so we received that gift, then a bottle of champagne from the concierge, and finally, some snacks from the concierge... We were in a category 6 but since we were staying on for a second week, we were sent treats from the concierge every day, as well as a couple of bottles of wine... I can't think of a better reason to be awakened than for presents!!

EAT ... We were the first in line for the lunch buffet. We had already booked PALO and the spa treatment because we were doing the REAS so we didn't need to stand in line for anything else...

ENJOY THE VERANDAH ... this was great except when the staff were cleaning the verandah above us, and all kinds of water poured onto our verandah... fortunately, we were watching this from inside our cabin.

ENJOY THE SHIP ... we did stay out of the way of the staff, but enjoyed having the ship to ourselves for a few hours ....

OUR OWN SAILAWAY PARTY ... since we had participated in the sail away party the week before, we decided to have our own party in our room. We ordered the cheese and cracker tray, and waved at everyone from our verandah.... it's amazing how many people line up to see the ship off... we saw the coast guard give us the send off as well...

We will be rebooking back to back cruises again... it was the best!!

When can you start to order room service? For some reason I thought it wasn't available the first afternoon. Can we order room service during the afternoon when we board?

When we did back to back Magic cruises, we did laundry and walked the ship. It was so neat to walk around a relatively empty ship because the crew were all doing their jobs and just smiled and said hello as we walked by. We spent some time up on 10 and just enjoyed the time and the anticipation of being on the ship another week!

I'm not sure what time you can start ordering room service but I think once the rooms are open, room service becomes available ... we ordered around 4:00 and it arrived within 15 minutes.

Back to back Magic cruises. Wow!!!!! If I hide in one of your suitcases, can I go in as checked luggage? Pleeease!!!!!!! I'll even do your laundry so that you won't have to worry about it. I'll sleep in one of the lifeboats, you'll never know I am there.
