Okay, DH and I might try this in December; we'll be staying at BWV so we'll be close.

What exactly do you DO at J'roll's? Is it like a bar where people try to talk OVER the music? Or do people sit and listen to the piano players? Are you ever encouraged to sing along/give requests?

Hi,

You sit and listen to the piano players, and yes, you are always encouraged to sing along and to give requests.

Its definitely a sing-a-long bar. All the songs played are by request, and there is alot of crowd interaction. Its a great place, we go at least once every trip. Sometimes 2 or 3 times.

The previous posters described it perfectly.

Up on a stage are two pianos on opposites sides of the stage facing eachother. Each piano has a piano man that takes constant requests mostly by napkin-meaning when you sit down the waitress plops down a couple pens and napkins so you can write requests on them. The waitresses bring requests up to the stage (or you can bring them up) and they'll play what they can which is just about anything! :)

Tips are appreciated but not required. However, they'll probably get to your song quicker if there's a $5 bill accompanying your napkin.

HAVE FUN!!! They don't serve food there (it's a bar with popcorn) so you might want to plan to eat before or after. We also go at least once during our trip and love it!!!

I'll attach a couple pictures:

Or as they say when they recieve one, a $20.00 is a Fast Pass. :rotfl:

There is lots of singing along and also from time to time they get the crowd up to do dances too.

Is Jellyrolls smoking or non-smoking?

Smoking is allowed. I have seen it pretty smokey and with almost no smoke at all. Basically it depends on the crowd on any given night.

it is very much smoking, and may be the only indoor place in all of Disney property that allows it...
I'm have a lot of problems with smoke, and generally I'm okay in Jellyrolls. You do come out with your clothes smelling though...

that said, we still go on every trip, good times!

If there is anything you must do on property for nightlife it has to be Jellyrolls! My DF and I go every year for each of our birthdays and its a blast. Get there a little early to get a table down low, otherwise there are some high tops in the back. Either way its a great atmosphere. Just be careful cause its easy to rack up a healthy bar tab because you get distracted by the music:rotfl2:

Can't get our family to try this place due to the strong "smoke smell" when we pass by. It sounds like a fun place, but unfortunately we don't want to spend time in a smoking environment. Any suggestions for "non smokers"? :)

That's the main reason we have yet to go to Jellyrolls. I can't stand my hair smelling like smoke

Now if only they would make this place smoke free too!
