What do you carry with you into a Disney park?

Hi all,
I have seen lots of mentions of fanny/waist packs. I like the idea of being totally hands free but just can't see me fitting all my stuff into one. So when you go into a Disney park what are you taking with you? It will be DH, myself, a 6 year old DD and a 4 year old DD. We are getting the meal plan but my oldest is very picky (medical issue) and I will need to take food for her and my youngest is really a big eater so I was planning on taking snacks/drinks for us all to supplement the meal plan. The problem is that the stroller(s) we are planning on using are cheapo umbrella strollers that don't have any baskets so anything we take into the park we need to carry. Or it has to be light enough that we can hang it off the handle without tipping the stroller over when DD isn't in it.

We carry hardly anything with us but you mentioned needing to take certain foods. I would suggest one of those bags that are almost like a saddle bag that you wear diagonally that has lost of pockets and space but is light so you do't feel weighed down. I want to say they are called Baggallinis or something similar but I am not sure. Perhaps a smallish back pack might work too?

Honestly if it doesn't fit in our pockets we do not take it (and haven't since youngest was 3). Youngest is very picky, but we can stick a couple of snacks he likes into his shorts pockets (granola bars and boxes of rasins are common for him at WDW). I think you underestimate just how much food the dining plan provides. We usually have tons of snack credits left at the end of the trip--even while eating whatever we want. Also, ice water is readily available for free anywhere that has foutnain sodas--just ask:)

Let's see, other than the snacks mentioned above, we carry a small digital camera (clips onto DHs belt) a small tube of sunscreen for reaplication, our cell phones and KTTW cards. Really that is all. It is soooo much easier to tour without lugging junk around with you all day.

We bring a back pack and a stroller. We keep the bp in the stroller when we're walking and when we have to leave the stroller we put the bp on.

We bring our Maclaren stroller which we clip refillable water bottles onto. I carry a Baggalini wallet purse with my camera, cell, extra batteries, KTTW cards, IDs and cash. DH carrys a backpack (which we throw on the stroller when we go on rides) with a change of clothes for DD, water, and snacks.

We carried one of those backpacks with one strap that sit diagionally. We packed a bit heaver than most I guess, with 3 kids (11,8,5) we carried ponchos for all, a change of clothes (sundresss for dd, bathing suit bottoms for each of the boys) in a ziplock, our itinerary, autograph book and pen for each kid packed in ziplock, water bottle and drink packets, water mist fan, camera, sunglasses, sunblock, tylenol, kiddie motrin, gravol, kleenex, gum..... and probably a few other things I'm forgetting right now! We used everything at one time or another ESPECIALLY the ponchos and dry clothes (we were there in August, and not a day went by that the skies didn't open up and POUR for 10-15 minutes!) The backpack wasn't overly heavy or cumbersome...HTH

This is my first trip in a LONG time. I got my husband, myself, and each of the kids a fanny pack from www.beltoutlet.com

Then I read more and got myself the baggalini messenger bag that so many people here rave about: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1709843&page=3

I figure I'll bring both and play it by ear when we get to WDW.

But I see myself carrying most of the same things as canadianmom2three: " ponchos for all, aour itinerary, autograph book and pen for each kid packed in ziplock, water bottle and drink packets, water mist fan, camera, sunglasses, sunblock, tylenol, kiddie motrin, kleenex, gum"

Um, maybe it goes without saying but I always take band aids in my wallet. I hope to not use them but always do! ;)

We take our double jogger with great storage in it for rain ponchos and jogger rain cover, light sweaters depending on the weather, water bottles. Then we have a small backpack for things like money, camera, etc. We do the same as some people above -- carry our backpack on rides and put the backpack on the stroller for walking around. This system works out very well for us. Our twins are age 4. We will be taking our jogger to WDW for a few more years.

I think it depends on what time of year we go as to what/how much joins us for the day. Summertime seems heavier because of the suntan lotion/extra clothes for dd (she freaks when wet @@) waterbottles etc...

In early spring/cooler times, we use one backpack that I carry. In the front small zipper I keep cards/cash/camera. Bigger one goes wet wipes/suntan stick/purell, and in the biggest goes water bottle, extra clothes for dd (she freaks when wet), ponchos, ballcaps if not worn and maybe sunglasses.

I guess I do pack a bit more than most - I'm sorta germ freaky and my kids are 11 & 7 so I never know what we need  I'm following this thread to get better ideas!!

With two young kids, I always feel like we are packing to spend the night in the park LOL!

Of course I bring a camera bag holding the video camera, regular camera, extra video tape, and memory cards.

Then we bring a backpack with other stuff in it. That way, all we have to do is grab the camera bag to bring on rides. I'm not concerned with anyone stealing the backpack, but I would be devastated if they took my precious memories!

In the backpack I usually bring: a few snacks, usually some vienna sausages or something since DD(age 3) is so picky. I bring diapers for younger DD. I bring a small blanket for a breastfeeding cover up. I bring an extra outfit for each kid. They always seem to make a mess somehow LOL! Depending on what park we go into, I pack the kids swimsuit and a small hand towel if there is a kids water play area. Then a few Tylenol's, some wipes, and sippy cups.

I think that's about it!

We almost never return to the room during the day so our backpack is essential. It carries a change of clothes for three kids (with extra socks), sweatshirts (when needed), autographbooks & pens, ziplock bags (for unfinished snacks, wet clothes, pixie dust etc) extra batteries, itinerary with conformation numbers, tylenol, Purell, sunblock, chap stick with spf, band aids, sunglasses, gum, water bottles. We keep passes, money and ID in fanny packs or wallets that we keep with us at all times. I also keep a fold up tote bag in the bottom of the stroller to put everything in when it is time to fold up the stroller and get on the bus. It is amazing how much stuff you can accumulate during a day at WDW. It is easier to load it all into a lightweight tote than try to stuff it all into the backpack as the bus is approaching.

How big is your camera bag/camera? I have a digital SLR camera and the bad is about the size fo a luchbag, and wasn't sure if it would be okay to take on the rides or not. Did you have problems?

Thanks all for the great suggestions. I think I'm going to get a small bag to keep on me to hold cell phone, camera, wallet, tickets etc things you wouldn't want to lose. Then I'll hang a small bag off the back of the stroller with change of clothes, snacks, sun tan lotion, wipes, and swim suits.

This is our first trip so I'm not sure if we will be going back to the hotel mid-day or not. Neither of my DD's nap anymore so I'm hoping that just a sit down lunch and a few longer sit down attractions at the right times will be enough of a rest. So I want to take everything we will need with us.
