Have any of you guys ever visited DLP or Tokyo Disneyland or are you happy with just visiting WDW and DCalifornia??

I am just interested in your opinion, as I'm from the UK and I know what most British people of think of DLP comapred to WDW.

Thanks for replying!!

I haven't been but would love to visit DLP. Logistically, it would be easier to visit than Tokyo Disneyland. I have heard some pretty wonderful things about TDS, though.

I liked DLP a great deal when my family had the opportunity to visit there in the spring of 1997. The layout is a bit confusing compared to Disneyland and WDW, but Main Street DLP feels just like Main Street WDW (and Disneyland) to me. I think that Pirates of the Caribbean, Phantom Manor, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Space Mountain are much better rides at DLP than any of the US based parks. And the castle is fantastic. Given the opportunity to visit DLP again, I would not hesitate to go.

I have not been to the Tokyo parks, but Disneyland Paris is easily my favorite - it is so much better themed, and its attractions so much more elaborate that the Magic Kingdom's or even Disneyland's. It is, for the most part, much better designed as well, with the covered "arcades" to bypass parades on Main Street, and its larger size to spread out the crowds more. I cannot wait to go back!!!

Comparing the Disneyland Paris Resort to the American Resorts, I'd have to give Walt Disney World the edge for the time being, but who knows what things will look like when the DLP development contract runs out in 2017...

Most people who have been to most of the parks list their faves as:

1-DLP
2-DL
3-MK (or sometimes Epcot)

So I'm guessing it's pretty darn cool. Hopefully in the next few years I'll be able to say first hand...though it'll be hard for any park to beat DL IMO. :)

I have only been to DLP, not any of the Japanese parks (although I REALLY want to.) I only got to spend 4 1/2 hours at DLP 3 summers ago, but I really enjoyed it. I loved Phanton Manor and DLP's version of Space Mountain, although Space gave me a horrible headache. It was very interesting to compare DL with DLP (I had not been to WDW yet at the time.) I would definitely love to go back someday, after I visit the Japanese parks.

I've only been to WDW, but I'm dying to go to the rest, especially Paris and Tokyo. I'm hoping to finally make it to Europe this time next year, but I don't know if I'll be able to go to DLP because of my travel companion. Almost everyone I know says, "Why would you go all the way to France and go to Disney, when you can do that here?"

What DO the Brits think of DLP vs WDW?

There is a thread on this topic over on the UK Community Board. It's interesting. Check it out.

I have been fortunate enough to have visited all four Magic Kingdoms. If I were to rank them, I probably rank DLP as 1 and DL No. 2, although I waffle back and forth on these. DLP is easily the most beautiful Disney park I've been to, but I think the original Disneyland has the most magic and character. I liked Tokyo Disneyland a lot, especially World Bazaar (their Main Street), but it's just a step behind the other two. IMHO, the WDW MK just doesn't hold a candle to any of the other three. In fact, our family plans on returning to Orlando next summer and we may not even go to the MK since we have the better version in our own backyard.

Now if you're comparing the entire WDW resort with any other Disney destination, obviously WDW wins every time. There's just so much to do there and is the only resort in which you can spend an entire two weeks.

What do I think about Disneyland Paris?

I think I want to go!!!

I hope to plan a trip there some time before we leave Italy. DH has stated that he doesn't want to go, so that just leaves DS and myself...and since we are the family Disney-a-holics, I think we will have a blast. I received the DLP brochure in the mail over the summer and i looks so exciting!

I would really love to visit both DLP and Tokyo Disneyland. They seem like fantastic parks! Maybe someday *sigh*

Thanks for all your replies!!

I think that DLP is the most beautifully designed of all the disney parks. Some of the rides are considerably better:
Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean.

I think DLP MK is spread out the widest and is the most spacious of them all.

If DLP had the benefits of Epcot and AK I think it would be my favourite disneyworld of all time!!

But because it hasn't, I love going to DLP for a short break, but for a 2 week vacation WDW has to be the best!!

Well, I think most people would agree that if you're looking at 2 weeks to burn, WDW is tops, but if you're looking to spend only 1 day in a single park it's hotly contested between DL, DLP & TDS.
