What do they mean 'kids under 3 eat FREE'?

I was browsing through AllEarsNet at the character breakfasts and meals menus and saw it mentioned that 'kids under 3 eat Free'.

How exactly does this work? Does that mean that they will allow you to share your food with the child? Does it also mean/imply that I cannot share my meal/food with my 6 yr old???

At the family style of buffet places they will not charge you for a child under three. They will charge you for your six year old. Your child under three can still eat anything from the buffet they choose.

You can share a plate with an older child (or an adult) at places where you order off the menu. Obviously, you can't do that at a buffet or any type of all-you-can-eat restaurant.

KIds under 3 eat free means you can order something for your toddler off the kids menu or the toddler can get a plate from the buffet you will not be charged for the toddler. No need to share a meal, you child can just pick what they want Enjoy it until your little one turns 3!

Do we have to carry some proof of age for those under 3? How do they know what age a child is? Do they just ask???

When you make PS they ask for the ages of the children in the party. My youngest is two so does not have a park pass nor does he need a ticket for Hoop de Doo or for the character breakfast. You still count the child in the reservation they will tell you there is no charge when you indicate the ages.

be careful, some of the restaurants where you order off the menu do charge extra to share a plate with an older child...Mama melrose at mgm charged us extra for dw and dd5 to share a plate...i think it was like $3 or something, but they did charge...
