My son is very picky about what he brings for lunch, although he is not a picky eater.
I had a thread going about this a few months ago.
What is working for him these day is:
A bag of Target's Archer Farms Parmesan Bread Twists
Applesauce
Cheesestick
Special K Cereal Bar
He's happy with this.

But kids in my class eat rolled up turkey, bologna, cheese, cheese. Some bring in a salad, bread sticks, carrots and dip, dry cereal, cheese & crackers, fried chicken cutlets. A lot of cut up fruit comes in. Parents are pretty health concious!
However to that she wanted to add a pb&j sandwich, a bag of cookies, chips, and a big bottle of water. I told her she would never be able to eat all that. She said that eating the ham makes her more hungry
I told her so don't take the ham. So she decided to just buy her lunch
