What do most kids like to take for lunch?

My son is very picky about what he brings for lunch, although he is not a picky eater. :confused3 I had a thread going about this a few months ago.

What is working for him these day is:

A bag of Target's Archer Farms Parmesan Bread Twists
Applesauce
Cheesestick
Special K Cereal Bar

He's happy with this.

MY DD likes the uncrustable pj&b.

MY DS likes either bagel with butter or ham sandwich with ketchup

My DD eats PB&J every single day. :rolleyes2 But kids in my class eat rolled up turkey, bologna, cheese, cheese. Some bring in a salad, bread sticks, carrots and dip, dry cereal, cheese & crackers, fried chicken cutlets. A lot of cut up fruit comes in. Parents are pretty health concious!

This morning DD was happy to see her dad had packed her her sack-o-ham :lmao: However to that she wanted to add a pb&j sandwich, a bag of cookies, chips, and a big bottle of water. I told her she would never be able to eat all that. She said that eating the ham makes her more hungry :rotfl2: I told her so don't take the ham. So she decided to just buy her lunch :lmao:

My 11 DD brings salami or chicken patty sandwiches and also buys lunch.
My 14 DD buys everyday.

I have another pizza and sandwich hating kid here. It's nice to see I'm not the only one. My DD takes pasta in a thermos to school a lot. Sometimes it's in sauce and sometimes in chicken broth. When she has it in broth she has to take crazy salt with her (the entire container). I can just imagine what the lunch monitors think when they see what's in her lunch box :rotfl2: .

Today she wanted a change so I packed bologna in a bag, shredded cheese in a container, strawberries, cheese-its and fruit snacks.

I won't pack meat sandwhiches. I'm afraid of food poison.

I think all the "stomach Virus" we had as kids was our lunches.

DD's don't eat lunch at school, yet, but I am going to try to have them take hot lunch next year if it looks fairly healthy.

We send snack every day and they like applesauce, Goldfish crackers, pistachio nuts, yogurt covered raisins, peanut butter crackers, yogurt and string cheese. Hannah drinks milk at school, and I send apple juice for Emily. They ask a lot for pudding and cookies, with soda, but I tell them it's not healthy so they can't bring it. Then they tell me that lots of kids bring that stuff. Argh! I tell them that their moms may think it's healthy, but yours doesn't, so no go.

I'm with you about meat going bad. When my DD takes bologna it goes into her insulated lunch box with about 12 ice packs. The poor kid can barely lift the thing :rotfl2: .
