What do I want for my birthday? How about a kid-free Disney trip? April/May 2016 PTR

If it makes you feel better, the refacing on the tower bit was almost done 2 weeks ago and I thought I saw them taking the scaffolding down. Unless you have a room over the boardwalk, I don't think you would hear any of the construction noise.

We had them totally tearing apart rooms down the hall in BCV and I swear I barely heard any noise. We spent a lot of afternoons in the room napping....so I think you'll be ok. BWI is pretty huge too. So I bet you can request a room in a quieter location.

Thank you! That makes me feel better! We looked into changing resorts but decided to stick with BWI and I'm okay with it. I told DH if the noise was really bad I'd nap in the car!

So I've been a really bad pre-trip writer. We are in that awkward phase between ADRs and FP+ planning. Plus with the "might be open might be closed" crap going on, its so hard to actually plan!

We have 9 days for FP+. Here's what we have, I think:

MK Day 1:
Haunted Mansion
Pirates
Jungle Cruise

MK Day 2:
7DMT
Peter
Space

EP Day 1:
Test Track
Spaceship
Character Spot

EP Day 2:
Living with the Land
Nemo
Turtle Talk

DHS:
TSSM
ToT
Star Tours (maybe, I'm not a fan of this ride)

AK:
EE
Dinosaur
Safari

Following Along, super excited to see how your first AO trip goes! We have never stayed at a deluxe, maybe one day!

Sorry abut the construction, hopefully it's not bad enough for it to both you. FP's look good. It's getting close :cool1:

Looks like tons of fun to me! Hope your son feels better soon and hopefully those medical bills don't hinder this trip too much. Can't wait to hear more! :)

It's fastpass day. pixiedust:

I took a nap today to prepare to be up past midnight! I was joking we should have added a day so that we could have made fastpasses on Saturday night instead of Sunday. Mondays are my busiest day at work and I'm going to be super tired!

This trip has been so hard to plan. First there was no BTMR and now there is. Then Rivers of Light could possibly be opening 5/1 which shoots my AK day plan all to heck. Club Villain was supposed to go away but since they extended it through March maybe they will extend it more. Mayne Frozen ride, maybe not? Ugh. Just make up your minds already, Disney!!

So, to kill some time until 12:01 and to keep from replanning our entire trip, I've been shopping.

I ordered these for our first full day - my actual birthday

Holy crap. Not sure why those are so huge! Anyhow, that's the only day we'll do Disney shirts. I just thought they were fun for my birthday.

I also ordered these fun Drinking Around the World passports. We aren't huge drinkers (I'm a one and done kinda girl for the most part) but DH likes his beer. We'll see how far we get down the list

The only other thing left to do on my list tonight is to start our Garden Grocer order for breakfast stuff.

Sounds good. Love the shirts, I actually did a lot of my trip shopping this weekend too, gotta get those Etsy orders in early. I like the idea of a passport, we're not huge drinker either though. Hope your FPs went well, I do my in 45 minutes :faint:

Just caught up. I love the plans and indulging in some deluxe dining! That is going to be a wonderful adults trip. Sounds like after all the work chaos and kiddo medical visits you will be in dire need of your relaxing vacation!

Got everything we wanted! Hope yours were just as easy!

With four kids we can always use relaxing. Most weekends we sit here and stare straight ahead :)

So, thank you, Disney, for screwing with all my carefully laid plans. :headache:

Today they released the April/May dates for Club Villain. Now, I love me some villains. We did the Villains Soiree at MNSSHP two years ago and it was hands down my most favorite thing we've ever ever done at Disney. I was so excited for Club Villain.

Until they released it only on Saturdays. :headache:

Saturdays??

The only Saturday we are in WDW is my actual birthday, which sounds good, right? Club Villain on my birthday? Awesome.

But we just a few days ago made Fastpasses for MK. And we have a great Wishes viewing time ADR for California Grill. And there's a special order cake. :headache:

Decisions.

I went ahead and booked it just in case it fills up. And now we decide if we keep it. This means not only do we pay for Club Villain but we will have to get park hoppers because I'm not about to cancel fastpasses and take a chance of not being able to rearrange things. On the other side, it frees up 2 dining plan credits from California Grill which means we won't have to pay OOP for a meal. Money wise it works out to be semi-close. And we had planned to leave MK mid-day for a break to shower and change before dinner.

And then there's this whole Rivers of Light thing. If we end up having to do a dining package for that, we have to give up Ohana (also timed for Wishes) and our visit to Trader Sams. Traders Sams we can reschedule. Ohana? Only if we go at 3:30.

I'm basically totally replanning my trip today. :rolleyes2

The Club Villain event sounds great but California Grill is such an amazing birthday splurge - there are no characters and it's very "adult" in its magic, but I always find a celebratory meal there (especially with fireworks viewing) to be a real highlight. I know that doesn't make your choice any easier, but it does save you from the expense of the hoppers! And the menu at Club Villain just doesn't do anything for me. There are so many great places you could eat inexpensively OOP, I personally would keep CG. But I'm also not a giant fan of character meets and even the Club Villain one sounds good to me!! What a wonderful agonizing decision!
