We leave for disney july 18th and I just want to double check what I need to bring to get my kids across the border.

I have 2 boys. My fiance has 1 girl. We both have notarized letters from our ex's giving us permission to take the kids out of the country.

We have passports for everyone.

Do we need to bring anything else? Things like long form birth certificates? or Seperation agreements?

Thanks

Forgot to mention we are flying from Buffalo and crossing in Fort Erie

Nothing else. You should be fine with the Passports and Notarized letters

I always bring my seperation agreement with me just in case. I have never been asked for it, but I am sure if I didn't have it I would be asked for it.

That said my ex traveled with my dd and just needed the letter. He never brought the agreement.

I would bring passports notorized letter and custody agreement. We were asked for letter and proof of custody in May. Customs agent asked who had custody of the said child. Then asked for custody agreement. Never been asked before. We crossed at Fort Erie.

I have been asked for separation/divorce agreement. It is up to the discretion of the customs agent. Personally, I would have a copy of it..."just in case". Have an awesome trip!

I agree about the Separation Agreement or Court Order if you have one. I just got my kids' passports and they asked me for and made a copy of the Separation Agreement there. I look at it this way, if in doubt, bring it. It is better than having a hassle at the border.

On a similar note, what if your child has prescription medication? I figured I would just make sure it was in the original packaging with the label. My partner wondered whether you would need any sort of other documentation that is his prescription.

You don't need anything for prescription meds - you can even bring them in a pill organizer (not the original pill bottles with name, etc.). Just put them in a clear baggy.

My son needs injections and even though I always bring a letter for that (syringes, sharps container, etc.), we have never been asked about it. My yogurt, however, apparently warranted a full on pat down ;-) Fun times.

That's all you'll need. Other than passports, you will probably not even be asked to pull out the letters. On our way out of canada, all we did was pass our passports, on the way back in, we literally waved and passed through.
