What Disney Tip Are you really glad you listened to?

:worship:This is a must for preventing or covering a blister or just protecting your foot from a shoe that is rubbing it wrong. DrScholls Moleskin. I read about it a few years ago and it has been a life saver. :lovestruc Besides DW It works great when you buy a new pair of shoes that feels good in the store but when you wear them the first time, ouch!:scared1: Use a little Moleskin until the shoe stretches or smooths down.:thumbsup2

The best tip by far was ordering snacks, breakfast items and water and having it sent ahead. We used Garden Grocer and would recomend them to anyone. We recieved an voicemail that they had delivered our package and it was waiting for us when we checked it.

A word to those who use any other place to order. We recived a call from the conceriage that we had a package and it was water that we didn't order however after doing some research we discovered that anothe family with the same name as us and of our daughter was arriving in the next couple of days and they had give us their package by accident. So my advice is to give as much info as possible to avoid some family from "accidentally" recieving your package. We actually had to argue with the desk that it wasn't our package!! So I do hope that the other "Thomas" family got their water!!

So long story short!! Use GARDEN GROCER!!!

Taking photos of the signs is a great idea, as is recording a voice memo on your phone, sending yourself a voicemail...

But if you forget to do any of the above, a CM can tell you approximately where you parked! This was such a common problem that the parking CM's started keeping a record of which parking areas were loaded up by arrival times. So if you can't remember and all the above was also forgotten, ask a CM! You do still have to remember about what time you arrived.

Here is a tip for avoiding extra luggage fees and luggage over 50 pounds...

I always bring an umbrella style stroller so I bought a padded stroller bag by JL Childress (Buy Buy Baby). The bag is really long! In addition to the stroller I pack shoes, a stroller blanket, a fleece coat, once I even put in a sand bucket and a swim vest! You can gate check it with no luggage charge! The bag has definitely paid for itself!

Great tip. :) We always ending stuffing stuff in the stroller bag to gate check. :) Especially on the way back when we have extra stuff. LOL Great place to stuff winter coats you won't be needing on the plane, too.

If you're renting a car from Alamo, take advantage of Magical Express. It eliminates the rush when arriving at the airport. You can pick up your rental car at the car care center, they will pick you up at your resort. It gives you more flexibility of how many days you need a car.
Absolutely agree with this idea! We travel with a power wheelchair, and after a full travel day it is so nice not to have to break down/load the chair in an unfamiliar rental car (we rarely make it to MCO much before 10PM). We are going for two weeks and I snagged an incredible weekend rate from Alamo - $10 per day economy/compact. We'll pick it up from the Dolphin Thursday afternoon and return it Monday afternoon. We plan to make it over to Sea World a couple of days to try the new MANTA coaster! This works perfectly! And what a money saver!

When heading to Epcot World Showcase for dinner from a different park, go to the Studios and take the boat to the International Gateway entrance. Saves lots of walking, boat ride is lovely, and the foot rest is welcome. And yes, the boats are air conditioned!! If you are ending your visit to Epcot in the World Showcase, do the reverse trip. The buses are MUCH closer to the boat launch at the Studios than walking the through the entire Epcot park and then schlepping to the bus stops. Just make sure the Studios will be open when you do this. I love this tip and so do my feet!

After accidently picking up the wrong luggage 4-5 times ( all black!) I went and bought a new set. It's lepoard print. I have never saw anyone with it and have no problem picking it out!!!

Amen to the end of black bag clones! I went out and bought the ugliest, brightest color bag I could find - it is SHINY ORANGEy Red and marked way down for being so ugly! No one would even try to steal this bag. It's like stealing a red siren!

The sanitizing gels and towlettes with alcohol are a great way to cool off a bit. The alcohol is fast evaporating, better than water! Just wipe down the back of your neck, face, arms, etc. It really works. Just remember to re-apply the sunscreen! Another tip I picked up from runners doing the various events at Disney World is to take surgical/medical tape. Sticks better than bandaids and is great if you get blisters between your toes - just wrap a ring of tape around them and no more rubbing.

Alway's turn to the left!

Off the topic a little bit: We did this on our walk at our hometown park tonight. My son said "Which way do we need to go, mom?" I told him to go left because that is the advice I've always been given for Disney. He just looked at me like I was nuts! :rotfl2:

I did something simiar. I had my mom and 7 year old DD wait for our luggage and I went with my other DD to go through the rental car line. Either i would finish first and go up to meet her or she and my DD could each pull a suitcase to us. We ended up meeting somewhere in the middle. It saved us at least a half hour bcause after I checked in for my rental car, the line was huge.

I started doing this when I rented from an off site company - those shuttles are NOT wheelchair accessible. So now I always go get the car (on or off site) and pick up the wheeled wonder with our bags curbside. He just piles everything on a cart and pulls it alongside his chair.

I carry my Cayman Crocs to change into when my sneakers start feeling too heavy, my feet are hot, my tennies get wet, or my feet just need a change out. I always wear socks with crocs. The Crocs weigh next to nothing and it is amazing what a change of shoes will do for your feet. Sometimes just letting those puppies out of your sneakers for a while is heavenly!

We bought new luggage 4 years ago and it is perfect size/weight but BLACK! What were we thinking! Can't really see buying a new set so we tie on bright colored bandana's (doo rags my DH calls them). We never have any problems finding our black bags. Neon Yellow and glow in the dark neon green work best:thumbsup2

Tina<----less then 3 weeks to go!!!!!:cheer2:

Toledo13....LOVE your YouTube video's!!! ToT is our favorite and I think I was screaming "Oh crap, Oh crap, Oh crap" too on my first ride. OK, I'm from NY and the Crap's were a word starting with F!!!!!! So excited that we have ressies at Teppan Edo on our last night. Looks awesome! Been to Benny Hanna in NYC but never saw a women doing the cooking, they said "No women cook" I told my DH to listen up and now I NO COOK too!

Thanks to everyone on this thread....I am almost finished with my shopping list. Got brand new Totes poncho's (did not like the idea of the throwaway kind because they are too flimsy, I will just make sure I dry them before rolling them up again) Got my glow sticks from Home Depot and of course my alien green mickey heads from their paint department! Hope to see some other DISers there too!

The best advice I ever got was always wear broken-in shoes. At the last minute, I left my new shoes behind and went with my crummy ones even though my mom said they looked horrible. It saved my feet big-time! Yes, you will do a CRAZY amount of walking so forget the new Nikes. Find the most comfortable shoes you have instead.

I second that advice! I brought what I THOUGHT were broken-in shoes (my regular workout shoes) on one of my trips. I ended up with a big blister on the bottom of my little toe the first day. Soooo glad I brought my oldest, crummiest shoes - they weren't pretty, but they did the job!

For those with an Iphone (can I say hubby and I have had ours for a year now and LOVE THEM!)

There are Apps you can download

WDW Wait Times: This App gives you wait times of all the rides in the parks

UpinPoint: This is a map of MK along with hours and parade times, it also has a GPS guide on it.

Also WDW Secrets: Tells you little hidden secrets about WDW as well as where to find hidden Mickeys :)
