What Disney Tip Are you really glad you listened to?

where is the closest character warehouse? I was told it would be about 20minute drive to get to closest location

The one I've been to is "Orlando Premium Outlets" at 8200 Vineland Avenue. You can check their website at www.premiumoutlets.com I don't think it's 5 minutes from Disney, but it is not too far. They have 110 stores there, by the way.

"Free" Ice H2O is avaliable at all the parks ...no more carrying around bottled water for us anymore...one less thing to carry !:thumbsup2
Pack dd outfits ,one for each day, in a large gallon-sized ziplock bag ! Makes outfits easier to find and change into for the kids. I also put socks, undies and hair accessories in the bag for complete outfits!:thumbsup2

Probably already been said but here are my favorites

clothes for each day in gallon ziploc (both girls outfits fit in one bag)
crystal light for water
water, water, water
quarters for laundry (it is expensive)
pipe cleaners for the plane ride to keep kids entertained (they can make jewelry or animals. it is up to their imagination)

on Disboards, instead of "filling up space in a thread" by posting just to subscribe to the thread, instead, at the top of the thread you're reading and want to subscribe to, just click on the "tools" link which will activate a drop down menu. On the Tools drop down menu, click on "subscribe to this thread" then select the frequency with which you want to receive emails.

That's all there is to it! :laundy: And, it'll help everyone in getting through really long threads like this one not to have to surf past all the "subscribing" posts!

If your little one needs a nap, ride around on the Tommorrow Transit Authority. You can usually stay on it, since there isn't a line. We rode it for about 30 min one time.

I totally agree!!! Either that or head back to the room for some rest time. It made all four of us feel better - even Mom and Dad! The kids are ready for more park time after that! :)

The plastic bag idea is also great! We even used big ones to sit on one time after a quick rain shower got the rides wet.

And ponchos from home. We actually bought the Mickey ones on our first trip and brought them back each time. The fact that they snap makes them easy to use over strollers when you head to an indoor ride during rain. It also allows you to have a backpack on. We found the Mickey ones to be pretty sturdy - they've lasted us through 4 trips so far!

I know others have mentioned this already, but the sunscreen is essential! We would take showers in the mornings and spray on the sunscreen before we got dressed - especially on the kids. That way it had time to soak in before we headed out for the day. Don't forget to bring it along to the parks too, though! You might need more!

On the other hand, posting "subscribing" helps keep the thread alive by bumping it to the top. ;)

One of my favorite tips was to use a town car service instead of Mears. We had a super great driver, the grocery stop was awesome and we didn't have to make 5 other stops before getting to our hotel! I will never use Mears again!

Also glad I listened to the people who said it not to worry if you got late morning character breakfast PS's. We had 10:30 PS's for Chef Mickey's and it was much less crowded than early morning and the kids got tons of character time. Same for the Princess Breakfast in Norway.

One more....get over sitting on Main Street for parades, there are great, less crowded, spots to watch from in Liberty Square and Frontierland

We have always used Mears and my DH hates the waiting. How did you book a town car?

Wow, this thread is great! I've used some of the advice (like going through the stores instead of walking down Main Street after the fireworks & going to the left at opening) but there's some in here I never would have thought of! The best one so far, at least for me, is the walking through the stores. Although, if you're a bit of a shopaholic, that might not be a good idea. It might take you longer if you look at everything! LOL

We havn't been yet, but I have to say shoebuy.com for crocs and bags has been a great tip I got from these boards!

If you haven't purchased your luggage yet, buy your luggage in the most obnoxious color you can find. We can always spot our fire engine red luggage in the sea of black luggage on the airport carousel.

You got this right. It is amazing how many black bags are out there :rotfl: I have black, lucky me, but I have a bright lime green tag on it, so that makes it a bit easier to spot.

This is exactly what I plan on doing when I can find a good deal. Anyone know when the best time to buy luggage? I know after Christmas I see sales but I'm wondering if there is another time. I've seen some Lime Green luggage and some hot pink kind lately, sounds like my kind of colors! LOL :lovestruc ;)

I have seen a lot of luggage on clearance at JCPenneys and Sears lately.

We bought our luggage last year in September at a Samsonite outlet mall. I think they always have sales, so it might be something to look for if you have an outlet mall near you.

Is Mears the same as Magic Express (ME)? I'm curious as to why some people would want to take a service that costs when you have something that's for free? Then again we came in really late on our plane so by the time we loaded the airconditioned bus for POP I was so happy to be getting to a place that wasn't on a darn plane! ;) We were on a plane from around 1 in the afternoon, (three stops and no getting off the plane)until 10:30 p.m., it wasn't the most fun I've ever had, but at least the airfare was cheap. The ride on the way home made up for it though, we had a direct flight.
I know when the original post was made about Mears was made(one of the first posts) a few years ago, but MD now isn't on vans any longer, it's on a bus, and if your going to POP at least you'll have your own bus, you won't be making several stops to different resorts. From what I could tell you would have your own bus for your resort no matter the resort.
