I guess everyone who goes to Disney for the first time gets lots and lots of advice. Or maybe like me you are trying to read everything that you can to help with planning your trip.

As a first time visitor I would love to know the one piece of advice you are really glad you listened to? Be it a practical one or a magical one :goodvibes

Be there early before rope drop and use FP!

Keep a running tab of what each meal costs if you are using FD. Make sure you exceed the amount you pay for each day.

Avoid using credits on small items like fruit and little boxes of cereal....shoot for the higher priced, but same credit level, items.

Also, maximize the amount of food you are getting per credit.....seek out places that have larger portions for similar credits [like quick serve at Pepper Joe's or Starlight Cafe at WDW].

Did this on my first trip and by the end of the trip, we actually had a 2:1 ratio of cost to pay!

Fastpasses don't expire when they say they do. Save them up during the day and use them in the evening!:thumbsup2 That's how we discovered BTMR in the dark! Awesome!

Fastpasses, single rider lines/child swap, and....bring a small cooler packed with water..what a money saver for us since we go in the summer!!

A few years back, Hydroguys and Darkbeers tips on how to use the FP well. We were using but not past the expiration time. I also love BTMRR in the dark.

2nd or 3rd or 4th ;) ... the FP past the expiration time. This is my all time favorite tip. Love, love, love being able to get on all the FP rides at night-time with minimal wait times. BTMRR is the best at night.

If it hadn't been for the DIS board, we may not have stayed at HOJO's which is now our Fav hotel in DL. Avoiding Captain Kids, the great info I received about IN-N-OUT burgers (had one and loved it!). I received alot of greyt info on these boards, that I would not have gotten anywhere else, and it made our trip to DL in Feb/09 relatively stress free.

Try Carnation Cafe!

(and I concur with the late-FP tips and going to Peter Pan and Fantasyland first)

Again the FP tips - we collect them during the early hours and use 'em at night. Also the MM ride plan - PP, Dumbo, etc....

I second HOJO and no fast pass return time. Also my own special joy:

Whitewater snacks kitty.

Putting glow necklaces on your stroller so it's easier to find at night. Granted this doesn't apply to everyone, but it's been a life saver.

Giving our daughter a whistle. (It was my dad's idea, and we used it at Disney World). She was four and we told her she could ONLY use it if she couldn't see/find us. We practiced at home so she would know to do a quick "tweet". It was never a problem, and she did use it once when we got off Spaceship Earth. We turned around, lost sight of each other, and heard the "tweet". Problem solved.

I Would have to say mastering the fastpass system is key, especially if the park is really crowded. I suggest you read the many fastpass posts and learn it.

Booking the first lunch seating at Blue Bayou for waterside table. And of course all the FP tips.
