Im the MOH for my best friend and she is getting married on 7/3. I was wondering what you wish you had on the day of your wedding. I will be with her all weekend. The wedding ceremony and reception are being held on a yacht in the harbor so if there is something she needs last minute, we might not be able to get it. Im just looking for suggetions for a bridal emergency kit. Bandaids, aspirain, baby wipes etc. Stuff that I can plan ahead for and have at the ready if we need.

What did you wish you had with you? TIA

I wish that I had worn some sunscreen. Our wedding was midday in June (in So Cal) and my pictures show that I got nice and red on my chest and arms.

Safty pins are nice too as they can solve problems (I was at my cousins wedding and her dressw asn't remaining bustled so I wiped out a safety pin from my purse. It remained put the rest of the reception.

Your suggestions of bandaids and asprin are good! They do come in handy.

The only thing I can remember was two of my guests having to go and get batteries for their cameras. If you plan to take a camera, make sure the battery is full.

I recommend carrying your favorite lipstick with you. Something you can slap on quickly, easily, and feel confident about. I wasn't a fan of the little brushes the makeup artist gave me... the color just didn't look nearly as good as when she did it herself.

Definately the lip balm, and getting ready...I wish I had had my IPOD. There was just too much confusion and goings on. I loved talking to everyone, but the privacy would have been nice. Also, I wish I had had more time. I was SO rushed the day of the wedding, and running really late.

Kleenex! Bound to be a few tears (of joy, of course).
Hair pin in case of a stray tress of hair?
Perfume?

My problem was I had pretty much everything I needed and somehow my little purse i made up to have it all in ended up in a bag with some of the accessories I had and so I really didn't have that bag with me. I wish I had kept a closer eye on that bag because I probably should have reapplied my lipstick more often but if that is my only complaint then I am good to go.

Have A Magical Day!

I also brought deodorant and a roll on perfume bottle as to not have to spray it on. I brought safety pins, a hankerchief, an additional lipstick, mascara, chapstick & lip gloss, hand wipes, etc. Yeah, i would definately make a list of these things to make sure are with the bride the wedding day.

Have A Magical Day!

i wish i had more family and friends at my wedding. every now and then, i think about how my sister was the only family that i had at the wedding. my parents couldn't afford to come to the wedding and most of my friends either have part time jobs or kids or were pregnant at the time. hopefully if we do a vow renewal, i can have more family and friends at the wedding.

Excederine Miagraine tablets. Even better if they are the ones that dissolve in your mouth -- no water needed.

Definately hair grips. It wasnt until I was stood on my own in the brides room when I looked in the mirror and saw that a piece of hair had fallen out and was stuck right out. I was panicking especially as my wedding planner couldnt find any hair grips at the Wedding pavillion and had to search everywhere whilst I was stood behind the closed door waiting to go down the aisle. My poor H2B was wondering why there was a hold up :sunny:

A needle and thread might be great too!

I was helping out at a wedding, and had made the headpieces the bridesmaids wore. At the last minute, I threw the purple thread and a needle in my purse.

The MOH had accidentally added a 4" slit to her already really long slit. A couple of stitches, and she was "good to go." The MOH's son was the ring bearer, and he needed a quick button sewn back on his tux.

Thanks for all the suggestions. The wedding turned out wonderful and the reception was a lot of fun. I had everything you all suggested plus a few other things in my handy bag of tricks. The things that I actually used that day were baby wipes, scissors from the travel sew kit and a hand held fan (came in very handy for the bride). I brought way more things than I needed, but I was glad I had them just in case. Thanks!
