if you've not read the book, you'll be totally lost. if you have, you'll be disappointed.

I haven't read the book and I wasn't lost at all.

I think it's the best one they've ever made. I thought it was totally awsome, but some things were cut out from the book that I really would like to have seen.

Yea, it was a good movie. But compared to the book the book was deff. better. And they did cut alot out, but they always do, because if they didn't the movie would be like 6 hours long or more.

I absolutely adored this movie, my favorite of the 4.
I had read the book, and no I wasn't disappointed...although this new director was a little...erm....'strange' lets call it...but I posted my review in another thread and I will be glad to copy it here:

Just saw it yesterday!!

My comments:

Cedric Diggory=VERY cute
Fluer= Good actress picked for the roll
Fred & George= I think they did the best in this movie. They were hysterical!
Krum....well...lets just say he wasn't quite what I expected
The beggining was a lot more chopped then I would have expected, and a lot was left out from the book....
but this was definitly my favorite movie out of the 4!! I loved it! The Yule Ball scene was probably my favorite.
Thumbs up for this one.

i thought it was fabulous, but was a little disappointed with the beginning. voldemort needed to be scarier, and the "romance" between hermoine and krum just wasn't there. but overall, i loved it!

Okay early when i posted i didnt see it yet but i just got back and omg i thought it was amazing!!!

I loved it! I think it's my favorite of all. It was a little different than the others but, in a good way I think. :confused3 Oh and by the way, Harry was very hot! :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc :cloud9:

I agree with many of the other people in this thread- I think this was the best HP movie yet. Sure, they cut out quite a bit, but it's expected when you're dealing with such a long book. The special effects were great, and the new characters were cast well (I felt)...all in all, I think it did the book justice (but we all know the books will always be much better ;) )

Cedric Diggory: Dead man walking
Fluer: Cute!
Fred & George: loved the age potion!
Krum: sourpuss
The movie altogether was more intense than the other three. But, yet very emotional, not to say that I have girl thoughts or anything, I am a boy, but I believed Ron when Hermione went with Crud, er Krum.:)
Fred and George would have killed me by laughing if they had showed how Dudley's tongue grew so long. That would've been the best. But, they still got me when they took the age potion and jumped into the age circle and got flung right back out as old men.

The movie was great. The graphics were awesome. But they skipped so much of the book. Good thing too. It would have been an eight hour movie if they didn't cut a lot of stuff.

I saw it, and here is my opinion:
I was very pleased that they sticked with the story. They did not add a lot of extra stuff in, and they kept all of the events (for the most part) in order. I was rather happy the way it turned out. However, being a hardcore book fan, I have a few things that I wasn't very pleased with, which I will list... warning, it may contain spoilers for those who haven't seen the movie:

-first of all, they totally lead you on thinking that sirius is going to be in the movie more, but he isn't. there is not hogsmade visit, and he doesn't come in at the end to make sure harry is alright. a little disappointed.

-second, um... so did percy jump off the face of the earth with bill, charlie, dobby, winky and bagman? they were no where to be found. Percy is suppose to help judge the tournent, as is bagman. Dobby is the one with Winky, (which by the way, harry didn't sit in the box seats at the QWC) and he also provides the gillyweed for harry. Charlie is suppose to do the dragons, and bill is just... well.. suppose to be freakishly awesome bill

-third, they don't go into neville's past about his parents as much as in the book, and being a hardcore neville lover, it kinda bothered me.

-fourth, rita skeeters. i loved how she was portrayed, but they don't go into how she can transform into a beetle, and hermoine catches her. in fact, rita was no where as cruel in the movie as she was in the books. not to mention, there were no classes shown, cept for DADA. Hagrid never gets into the sprall with Madame Maxine. Also, Ron and Harry's fight was suppose to be far worse, and finally, the tri wizard champs don't get a lot of lines. no autpgraph krum (the world cup didn't go into veelas either, or the muggles who owned the camp ground) and fluer didn't get to be all pissy! finally, no potions class with the buttons, and colin trying to make them say potter rules, but instead making them say potter really stinks

anyways, aside from all that, i enjoyed:

-the characters of cedric, rita and mad eye. perfect perfect perfect. I wish they went more into cedric and rita. they are such wonderful characters

-the scene when voldemort is revived and till then end. just, it was exactly how i imagined it. then with cedric, frank, harry's parents ect appearing, I seriously was in tears. I had to run to the lavatory afterwards to wipe my tears. Just, brilliant, and I agree with everyone (being a hufflepuff myself) WHY DID CEDRIC HAVE TO DIE?

-neville thank goodness, was totally awesome in this book. him and ginny... i was squealing, it was so cute! then, his face when he mentions the crucious curse, and he sees it... you can tell he is thinking about his parents. he did such a wonderful job in this movie.

-snape, another good character this time, though he did lack many lines. he was good, angry, yet you did get that suttle, almost decent personality across like he was. same with draco, i missed his lines too.

-the twins... lets just say i almost got myself (and my sister and her roommate) kicked out, we were laughing so hard. they were funny, and cruel at the same time, just like they are suppose to be. i was utterly pleased with how they were, and just the scene when they try to put their name in... i was in heaven. then singing to ron, and asking angelina to the ball.

-finally, the tasks n' such were wonderful. i wish they had more time to elaborate on them. and harry and myrtle in the tube was totally awesome! i was dying

so anyways, that is my review, my favorite movie by far. it would have been better if they had more time. i just wish they made certain scenes more of a priority. i mean, especially with sirius and all the missing characters, but i shall not complain because it was all in all, a pretty good movie!

anyways, i also did go in costume: http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b193/HeathyIcons/bannerboards.jpg

I THOUGHT IT WAS TOTALLY BRILLIANT!!! I wasn't too happy with Voldemort (he could have been WAY scarier!), but it was a very good movie. It made me cry four times... although I am a sap when it comes to movies and books. Neville was brilliant, and I loved Fred and George. They needed to make it longer, in my opinion, so they could elaborate more on the characters. Sirius, who is my favorite character, wasn't in there nearly as much as he was supposed to be. S.P.E.W. wasn't in there either, which was a bummer. But like I said, it got me crying, and is the best of the four so far. You can just see Ron and Hermione getting together in the near future, although Ginny is still not as close to Harry.

i loved it..... i never read the book but i still enjoyed it alot..... i cried it was so sad....... those mermaid thingys freaked me out..... cedric is very sexy......krum was ok... but i think my neighbor looks exactly like ron its freaky... except his hair is blonde not red but die it red and u got ron

I thought Krum was gorgeous. lol i cried when cedric died even thought i read the books and knew it was going to happen. but then again i cried when i read the half blood prince

There's no shame in crying. I have to time my books just right so that I'm never near where Sirius or Dumbledore die when I'm reading it in school, because then I'll start sobbing hysterically during class and won't be comforted. And I cried a total of four times in the movie. But then again, I am a total freak when it comes to that kind of thing; real life stuff is just like, "Whatever", but when it comes to books/movies, I totally lose it.
