Yesterday I was at the grocery store and in the check out line. Well, silly me looked at the candy bars and there- right in front of my eyes were Twizzlers... AND they were on sale! I love twizzlers, and I knew my daughter was having friends over so, I picked up bag for her yea- RIGHT! . But when I put them on the counter realized that I was just gonna eat them all. I was fooling myself so I put them back. BUT, as I was turning back around...... what to my wondering eyes should appear?? But my favorite candy.... Poppables- they had the snickers ones and the mint ones... but they had the Milky way ones- and those are my definite favs! Unfortunately for me, they were also on sale! Buy 1 Get 1 free! How could I pass this deal up. I thought to myself that I could just buy 2 packages, put them in the freezer and eat 1 a day. NOT 1 package a day mind you, but 1 little poppable a day. This way these would last me what??? at least 6 months.... right!?!?!? So, I picked up the bag and then.... I turned it over to read the nutritional info on the back. WHY???? Why did I do that? All I could hear was Kath in the back of my head saying.... "it isn't worth it!!" It was like the little angel, devil sitting on your shoulder thing!! Yes, buy it- it's such a good deal... and one isn't gonna kill you. Then .... NO!! Don't yield to temptation. You can be strong... you'll only be mad at yourself for eating them. Well, Kath... you won. I didn't buy them. I put them back and went out of the store. I was however having a MAJOR sweets need- so, when I got home I ate a small carbolite bar. Now technically, I know it's not allowed on induction, but, I thought that would be better then the other.

So, now that I've told my story and done a little bragging.. how about you? What did you do this week that makes you proud of yourself?

For me it has been ice cream and bread and butter. I can't take those things away from my kids, so sometimes the urge to have just one little bite is just horendous....so far so good though :teeth:

There is a big bag of salsa tortilla chips sitting in the cupboard......and it calls me everytime I walk by :(
DH is home now, so I hope he eats them all and gets them out of here!!
I won't buy more.

My big problem is that DD is coming home next Saturday for the summer and she has to eat :( {sigh} As I've said before, I have NO willpower. It's going to be a long summer.

I went to Costco today. What a torture chamber!! I had a sliver of frankfurter, while DH and DD wandered around eating ice cream cake and Oreo candy bars. I lived through it, but there was a moment there that I thought I might cry. I considered just standing by the frankfurter lady and eating every little toothpick morsel she put out, but I didn't want to call attention to myself.

In all seriousness, (which is kinda hard for me :jester: ), I kept saying to myself, "I don't want to be like this anymore" (hugely fluffy) and "you can't go back, Linda, only forward".

Thankfully on Weight Watchers no Foods are Off Limits, so the only thing that I have had to learn to resist is eating the WHOLE bag of potato chips!!!!!! (But I don't trust myself so I only buy snack size bags now and count the points when I eat em!:) )

Breyers was on sale today....It's my absolute favorite...but I didn't buy the sprinkles which would have put me over the top...I never would have self control enough to not eat any....

I found out I am stronger than a dozen donuts this week! I went to the grocery, picked up a box of the best looking donuts I have ever seen, looked them over very carefully and then I PUT THEM BACK! I did not buy them and I did not look back.

WAY TO GO EVERYONE!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce:

We are WISHer's . hear us ROAR!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went to my friends house today it was like food situation galore! Her hubby has very bad eating habits and he kept offering me Easter candy (which I rejected - even the creme eggs!), then he offered me chocolate milk (rejected that too). Then we decide to go to the mall, we had to buy my friends husband some cookies before we left (I didn't get any). LOL, then for the last temptation my friend asked me to eat over...she was making cheeseburgers and french fries!! I actually had to go somewhere tonight but wow I think I dodged many bullets today!

I was a good girl today!!

Way to go everyone!
I dodge bullets everyday with my kids and my husband. *sigh* But the kids are starting to eat a lot better plus the carbs they do eat are not as attractive to me. My only problem is the chocolate and yes they still have some from Easter because they have so much that we space it out rather than eating tons all at once.
It's a daily battle of mind/will power. Bananas (can't have them yet), popcorn, chocolate, pasta, bread, cheerios.... LOL You name it- I have to resist all the time.

I'm preTOM and it's been tough but I've stuck to the SlimFast and avoided
CINNABONS!
PIZZA (two birthday parties with cakes and sodas)
Donuts
Hot dogs
French fries
Oreos
Ohh, it was tough but when you put all those things in a row you realize how ICKY that would be for anyone! I love French Fries and pizza- and I usually crave chocolate on my TOM but this time I've craved sour cream and onion dip- so I endulged and instead of having an apple for my midafternoon snack I had 5 potato chips and a teaspoon of the dip ( a rounded teaspoon that is! :)) But that's all it took to get my salt fix and my onion kick and I felt much better! I had also walked 4 miles in 80 degree weather so I think my body needed the salt- I need one of those hats to wear where I can feed myself water through a hat!

PIZZA!!!

I've had the worst craving for it for the past few days. I did have a Smart Ones frozen pizza the other night for dinner which helped a little, but I want a nice gooey slice of REAL pizza.

I know I could have a slice if I adjust my points accordingly, but I'm afraid if the pizza enters the house, it will be all over.

I have about 5 more pounds to lose for my WW goal (although my personal goal is a little further away than that) and will be allowed more points. I think I may just have to break down and have one then, unless this craving passes....

First, I am so glad that Katholyn won the battle for Karebear1! Isn't the accountability just the best thing going! When I am tempted, I hear my buddies and "see" them gathered around with pitchforks poking out toward me and they have such a way that I know I am going to have to confess and it is just not worth it! I love my buddies too much and they are so good for me!

I am so glad to say that I think I am over the carb addiction so it has become easier for me - besides only DH and me so I just don't bring the really "high point" foods in the house.

This week I was at a luncheon and passed on the cheesecake - it looked good but you know the carrots and asparagus tasted really good! I was amazed that at a table of 8, I was the only one who ate the veggies! Ate half the lasagna (4pts worth) and it wasn't all that good - would like to have had more veggies!

I agree with AnnieT on WW nothing is forbidden - may only get a smidge of something - but most times when I figure the points and if its too many I am sure it wouldn't taste that good anyway - so that usually helps keep me in check too.

Let's see...

1. My DS wanted Krispy Creme's, so I bought a box (12), and they have been in the house for two days and I haven't had one (or even a bite).

2. We went out for dinner a few nights ago, and while my DH and DS filled up on all sorts of trashy food (they are beanpoles to boot), I had grilled Tilapia with mango salsa and grilled vegetables, and I didn't finish it all.

3. I took my DS to Culvers (for those of you who don't have them, they are a fastfood joint mostly found in the midwest., and they have to-die-for custard ice cream) last night, because he had a hankering for a burger and fries. What did I have, you ask? Well 'lil old me had a garden salad with fat-free dressing.

My one weakness this last week: a brownie! I will admit it, I ate one. I hadn't had chocolate in almost 4 weeks, and it's MTOTM. What can I say, other than I enjoyed every bite of that darned thing:)!

Yay Karen!! Good for you for passing up those Popables, but I know exactly how you feel because the 3 musketeer ones are my absolute favorite!!! DH loves them too, but I refuse to buy them now!! Too much temptation!!:p:p

I think the hardest thing for me is bread!! I love toast in the morning and it took some getting used to for not eating it, but I have done it so far and now I don't even crave it!! I am pretty happy about that!! :):)

Saturday - went to the movies - bought no food at counter. Decided I could live 2 hours without popcorn or candy or a coke.

Sunday - took DS to a birthday party. turned down Cake and punch (I LOVE CAKE)

I went to my grandparent's house today for my grandpa's birthday. I was told ahead of time that they'd be having pizza, and pizza is a red light food for me. (Meaning one slice is NOT possible)

So I thought I'd be out of the woods by picking up a footlong turkey sub from Subway. It was delicious, and I had a bag of baked chips, so that worked.

But I wasn't prepared for the myriad of fattening finger foods laid out. Cheese, and pepporoni, and chips and dip, and olives. Well, I had 2 olives, 4 mini-pretzels, and TONS of veggies.

I made it through the temptation!!!! :)

Everyone should be so proud! This is such a difficult thing to do- to give up your favorite foods! But, we have all done just that, or at least adjusted the amounts of it we eat. Doesn't it make you feel like you have some control in an otherwise uncontrollable world? The ability to look at food and now be able to turn away from it is a GIANT step for me! i still have my hard times- don't get me wrong! This weekend has been a very difficult weekend for me. But just reading all your successes makes it much easier for me to accomplish my goals. It makes it easier for me to stick to good choices. Thanks to all of you that have been willing to post and share your struggles and your success! When I see them both- hand in hand- it makes it an over all impowering and positive experience for me!
