What did you get and what did you give for Valentine's Day?

DH got me tulips (my favorite) and some chocolate. I got him a bunch of chocolate goodies from a local chocolate gourmet shop and made him breakfast. I am also making his favorite meal for dinner. :)

I gave a bunch of valentine cards and a couple boxes of chocolate.
I got a Starbucks gift card and the Anna and Elsa Hallmark ittybittys!

I've been sick since Thursday so I didn't get a chance to shop. Dh gave me a card and some chocolates, and he got the kids some stuffed animals.

It'll be a pretty dull day here since I still feel yucky.

A rug for our living room! I can be picky, & I've been searching for a "just right" rug for our living room for years. I finally found what I was looking for about 2 weeks ago & ordered it & told DH it could be my Valentine's present! LOL!

For him, I was going to order some gourmet popsicles from a little store in St. Augustine that we discovered last summer while we were there. Anyway, DH loved the Bourbon Peach flavor, and, in the fall, I found the store online & learned that you can order their popsicles & have them shipped to your house. At the time I thought, "That will be the PERFECT Valentine's present!" However, this week, when I called to order, I was told that they had stopped shipping for the winter season & would resume shipping again in the spring.

So, I have two cards for DH. #wifefail

For the kids, I put together little baskets. DD received a shirt, a silver heart bracelet, nail polish, a devotion book, & small heart-shaped box of candy. Older DS got a shirt, a small LEGO set, a flashlight-carabiner clip, a devotion book, & small heart-shaped box of candy. And younger DS received a shirt, a TMNT figure, a small TMNT craft kit, the You Are My I Love You book, & a small heart-shaped box of candy.

Our nieces & nephews & the kids in my co-op class got boxes of conversation hearts w/ cute little notes attached, & the kids' teachers at our co-op received votive candles also w/ cute little notes attached. LOL!

And, tonight, our family will be attending a dinner theatre & watching our older son & our niece perform in a production of Disney's "Aladdin".

Cut out paper hearts for dh and kids and taped them to candy. I got chocolate.

Honestly, we don't make a fuss over this day. I don't expect to get anything this year from DH since we just purchased a used SUV.

We will be giving our daughter's a small box of chocolate. I bought a card for DH and I will bake a chocolate cake.

I bought pizza today. That's the extent of our celebration. We really don't "do" Valentine's Day---DH has brought home flowers or a teddy bear a couple of years, but usually only because someone he works with says "you didn't get anything for Jedana? oh, you are in trouble!!!"

He does surprise me throughout the year with random flowers or gifts, so I'm ok with not going commercial today.

The one year he did try to plan something, it backfired---on me! He preordered Diablo 2 (does this tell you how long ago it was?), which was supposed to come out around Vday. They put off the release to April, so it became a Vday and Birthday gift for me. Then it was put off until May, so it was then a Vday, Bday and Mother's day gift. And then it became a 4th of July gift; then an Arbor day gift; Halloween; Thanksgiving and Christmas; New Year's; Vday AGAIN; birthday, AGAIN; and finally Mother's Day AGAIN. He scored over a year's worth of gifts, while using one promised gift as mine....:sad2: (And I let him get away with it....:crazy2:)

We go shopping on the 15th when everything is half price. So far, I've gotten nothing, I've given nothing.

We usually just go out to eat. We both had bacon wrapped sirloin with lobster on top, asparagus & mashed potatoes. Today we gave each other a card. Tonight his sister & her husband are coming over for pizza & games. I'm going to make a crock pot chocolate lava cake too.

We don't really celebrate it. We went to breakfast yesterday if that counts.

I did yell upstairs to him that I was buying myself a soda maker from Amazon for Vday. He said, "Whatever...". Thanks babe!

Stopped at the store on the way home and dropped a bag of chocolate covered strawberries in my lap. He's a romantic.

We like to celebrate things and we'd "do it up" if we could, but we're in the middle of a bit of a crisis and are on the highway driving 600 miles today to be with family. This makes 2 in a row - we buried DH's mother last Feb. 14. (but we did end up with a house full of flowers if that counts). :flower2:

I got a romantic note taped to coffee machine this morning. He must have left it before his recall. If that counts.
We really don't celebrate Valentines day or Sweeties day. I would rather have what I got two weeks ago for no reason... then the more (forced) reason.

He made me chocolate covered strawberries, put them on a plate to form a heart and in the middle was small note tell me how "I was sweeter then any strawberry he has ever tasted." Ich liebe dich mein Schatz. melts my heart every time he randomly does sweet things

We don't normally do much so I just got DH and my kids some of their favorite candies. But DH really surprised me with reservations for dinner at my favorite seafood restaurant downtown and tickets to see Wicked tonight.

 Sorry. Safe travels to you.

I got a blue hydrangea plant to replace the one I killed off last year.

I gave a USC jigsaw puzzle.

Nothing special about today more than any other day to us - just shared an extra kiss as we both thought about what day it was - :love2: Our 48th anniversary is coming up in July - leaving for Disney next week end for a couple weeks. Every day is special to us!
