Looking at excursions, not sure what to pick, any idea would help greatly.
Two adult in our 50's.

TIA

Wow, which cruise itinerary goes to the Azores? I'd like to go back and actually see the island. Was there only once on an Air Force C-130 for refueling.

We did the pineapple farm (which is not worthwhile) and a tour of the island that went to the blue and green lake. The views from up there are beautiful. There wasn’t much to do there when we did our TA.

I did an adventure tour where we climbed up a path along a mountain river (required wetsuits because the water was so cold) and walked back down in the river rappelling down some waterfalls and jumping off others into pools of water. Also saw a tea plantation on the way back to the ship. Really fun tour overall.

We did a private Jeep tour with Azores Outdoor Activities on the 2019 cruise, and it was amazing! Our tour guide took us all over the island and gave us plenty of time to enjoy the hot springs - while we were at the hot springs, a DCL tour marched through but they didn’t even get to stick a toe in the waters! We probably lounged in the various pools for a good 60-90 minutes. It was very affordable too, maybe 50 Euros per person. I highly recommend the the company and the guide Philipe.

We booked with Azoeran Tours, can see reviews on trip advisor, Gary was great and we had a perfect day!

We've been twice (both EBTA's) and love Ponta Delgada. 1st time we did the Furnas and Cozido das Caldeiras (PD03) and really enjoyed it. You get a really good overview of the island during this tour. The countryside is amazingly gorgeous! The meal was tasty and everyone was seated at large round tables of 8 so we were able to meet a few new people. We had plenty of time to walk around and take photos during all of our other stops. The 2nd visit was just a year later, so we just walked around the port area, shopping and eating snacks. :)

I've stopped a few times. Once I did the Best of the West with Wine & Cheese (bus tour with photo stops ending at a wine & cheese reception). Another time I chose Highlights of Ribeira Grande (bus tour with photo stops, brief visit at the springs, a horse stable stop with wine & cheese reception). I enjoyed both tours, but wasn't looking for anything particularly intensive.

We stopped there on the westbound transatlantic in (I think) 2016? If I remember correctly, I did an excursion that went to a pineapple plantation and a fort, then drove through the island. I remember the guide being really good, but the pineapple plantation so-so (more so, I think, because its just not my thing). The fort and drive were good, though!

We were looking at the Best of with the wine and cheese excursion, thanks for the info.
