What did you call the girls’ high-hair styles, in the late 80s

I graduated in Upstate NY in 1990. The girls referred to our bangs as our ‘bouf’. Parents & teachers called them ‘Mall Bangs. And my Dad called it my ‘Rooster Doo’. I also remember the bangs being called “Joke Catchers” (catching the jokes that went over our heads). Where did you grow up & what did you call that timeless style?

Honestly, we just called it "hair" since we all looked the same.

I accidentally singed mine with a cigarette. Back when it was cool to smoke.

We didn’t have a name for our hair, but not even hurricane force winds could move a single hair on our head. I remember putting hairspray on the curling iron while also using a hair dryer. Our curling irons would get so sticky, lol.

We called the process of getting our bangs to stick straight up as if we were perpetually getting a surprise 'ratting.' I don't remember a name for the hairstyles themselves. I went through a can of AquaNet a week. That hole in the ozone? All me.

When I became enamored of Bono, I scrapped the big hair and got a mullet just like his. My friends were absolutely scandalized.

Ahhhh...the days of Aqua Net! I was there too. Did anyone else use Barbasol shaving cream in their hair? Mousse didn't exist yet, so we used Barbasol.

Hahahahaha! I was all Aquanet. What you did was take a rattail comb and comb your bangs up, holding them up with the comb. Then spray, spray, spray. Hold them up the entire time the AquaNet is drying. 'Spray, dry, spray, dry, etc.' After about six sprays, your bangs wouldn't move no matter what, and you could probably cut a two by four with them better than a saw could. I was always in a cloud of hairspray. My lungs are probably made of leather now.
