What did you appreciate for the first time through your toddler's eyes?

When my DS got upset at being told "no" and crying, ran over and hugged the leg of a soldier! It totally fixed the moment and he was fine afterwards and my husband chilled out too.

I have been to Magic Kingdom countless times at different ages, but only rode Dumbo once in all that time. The first time for my then DD1 now DD3.5 she rode Dumbo three times in a row. Looking back at her and my wife from the Dumbo in front of them was awesome. The huge smiles and laughs were something I won't forget. Heck we even had to ride Triceratops Spin three times when we visited AK.

We are going back in just over a week, and now her sister DD2 is getting her first trip to WDW.
We took my 1 yr old last year and she loved dumbo and nemo!! I rode it once in all our trips but did multiple times last year.
Op our babes seem a lot alike! She will be 2 in August and is still sleeping on me lololol!! Taking her back to Disney in August, can't wait to see what she likes this year now that she is talking and running all over!

We went this past September and my girls were almost 3 and 1. The look on their faces during the Main Street Electrical Parade was one of my favorite parts of our trip! They loved the lights and waving to all of the characters!

This thread is making me cry! This is why Disney is so wonderful.

When we took DD1 for her first trip at age 2, she was so excited to see the characters at Chef Mickey's but her favorite was Minnie and she kissed her and hugged her and that moment made our entire trip worth it. She was totally under the spell of Disney and magic was everywhere. Even buying popcorn was super exciting because it was Disney popcorn, lol. It was really just nice seeing everything through her innocent eyes.

I'm a new mom, DD is one month old! I have lots of time to read the boards while she is nursing or sleeping on me (still too small for the baby ktan, says the pediatrician, but she doesn't sleep by herself during the day. Her eyes pop open within five minutes of being put down!) I keep thinking of how exciting our first trip will be! I was wondering-- when I read the boards, so many people say their trips with toddlers make them appreciate new things in the parks. Like, when I was a kid, my mom said I spent an hour watching flamingos. Or, my sister was obsessed with the koi pond in Japan and the fountain outside Journey to Imagination. What things did your toddlers love or notice that you had never noticed or spent time with before? (Sorry for the stilted grammar, I'm typing with one hand on my Kindle while baby sleeps, heavily, on my other arm. These are the days, right?)
I am in the same boat as you..DS is 3 months old and we are already counting down to our first trip with him which will be Sept.2017..he will be 18/19 months
