I need ideas for throwing together our Welcome Bags, and what sorts of things to put in them. I figured other brides might find this info helpful too!

Can you all share what you put into your bags?
Thank you!

Right now the only definite I'm thinking of including is a Disney water bottle lanyard/strap for each person. Gotta love those!

(I have to say that it's going to feel like being Santa... we're going to go around to all the resorts and deliver the welcome bags to the front desks hehe. Luckily we arrive before all but 1 guest, and everyone is staying on property yay!)

We just bought Mickey Reusable Grocery Tote bags (2 for $9.50) on Disney.com. We are filling each with:

- Envelope that will have a welcome letter, wedding itinerary and park tips, customized map, list of clues for our wedding hidden mickeys and 5 Disney Dollars
- Custom water bottle with our names and wedding date
- Disney pretzels and snack mix
- Disney gummies and chocolate candies
- Disney Magnet photo frame
- Custom tissue packet with our names and wedding date
- Custom mint tin with our names and wedding date
- Bear Necessities packet with floss, toothpaste, scope, toothbrush, mini tide-to-go stick, neosporin, lion king bandaids, hand sanitizer, pepto bismal and advil
- Disney Pez

Here's what we did..
There are more pics in my PJ/TR If you are interested.

A complete list of what we have:
A small bag of kleenex
a personal fan
germ-x wipes
Small bags of munchies
cracker crisps
pistachios
honey and oat bars
rice krispies
labeled bottled water
A welcome letter
mapquest directions
door hangers

We are included alot of the same items as listed above but we purchased the Disney Sinch Sacks on the disneyshopping website to put evertyhing in. Hopefully our guest will use them that week in the park.

We also made our own "Guest of Honor" badges like the ones the CM's wear. We are thinking of attaching these to the outside of the bags.

I started buying for the welcome bags awhile ago and I sure wish I hadn't shopped so early! I definitely over bought stuff, but I'll just be reselling it on Ebay:thumbsup2

I didn't think about 1 welcome bag per family and only thought about my total guest list! So I have 60 travel sewing kits:rolleyes: !

So far I purchased

Small Canvas bags from Orientaltrading.com
mini-activity books from orientaltrading.com
Micky pens from Ebay
Mini-Disney notepads from the Target Dollar pin
Band-aid holders that I 'borrowed':upsidedow from my old job
Shout Wipes from ebay
tissue packets - 9 for a $1 at Dollar Store
Mini Dolphin Keychains from orientaltrading.com
mini Fish water game from orientaltrading.com
travel sewing kits
One-time use lint removers
Mini-Dental Floss
And probably more stuff that I'm forgetting!

I plan on putting some nice soaps in there (like starfish soap), some trail size medicine products and snacks like water bottles, goldfish crackers, and swedish fish as well as the welcome message, itinerary, and hidden mickey list

One thing I learned was that I shopped too early for welcome bags, I just wanted to pick up things here & there and realized I bought way too many of each item. So I'll be selling alot of my leftovers on ebay in lot sets.

I don't have any pictures(can't figure out how to put them on) But I just bought bags in the craft section of walmart and decorated them myself.
I plan on putting in a Welcome letter, disney facts and a few hidden mickey's.
ALSO:
hand sanitizer
a small first aid kit
pain reliever
tums/rolaids(for my mom)
tissues
a trial size of tide and fabric softener
and a couple other things like that
Also, some food and personalized water bottles

I want to get a mickey keychain or pin for everyone but i am waiting for the 2009 ones to come out
I made cards out of this really cool silver glitter cardstock. I used a Mickey hole pucher to embellish the card. All in all they look so good. Now if I can only figure out how to post pics......

I started shopping early too b/c I can't do much else until we book with Disney. I'm making the bags (about 30) and if I have left over I figured I can give them as gifts or use them as gift bags in the future! (the bags not the stuff in it. If I have extra supplies I'll put them in the bags of the bridal party or something!)

So far I have bought:

a bunch of Disney Magic Towels on Ebay
Disney Princess Pens from Ebay
Disney Mini-notepads from Ebay
Disney travel sized Kleenex (the kind you throw in your purse)

What I'm planning on purchasing in the future:

a welcome folder with all kinds of info and fun things to do!
stuff for a bare-necessities pack (band-aids, advil, tide-to-go, etc)
disney fruit snacks
granola bars
bottled water
and probably alot more b/c i'm a shop-aholic

some things not shown are bear necessities packet with nemo bandaids, disney magic wash cloth, kleenex, disney light up pens etc..
All the papers will be in our info packet folder with pockets. plan on including directions etc. I also have personalized parks maps not shown for every family. I plan on getting special wdw year pin/or key chains too.

We are doing what most everone else is doing. Also: mini personalized champagne bottles, a handwritten thank you note, A little favor bag with bath salts, a candle and personalized matches. You can seriously over do it but it's lots of fun. And I agree, it's like Christas!

Everyone's ideas are so great!

We're doing about 50 bags  and will most likely be the regular white glossy gift bag. I really like the idea of the reusable grocery bags...we'll see what the budget allows haha.

We're doing a lot of the same too:

~ Bear necessities ~
- First aid kit
- Mini suntan lotion
- Shout wipes (or mini tide pen)
- Tissue pack (Kleenex)

~ Folder ~
- Hand written thank you
- Itinerary
- Transportation info, including Disney's
- Puzzles (word search, crossword)
- Park Maps
- "Our Favorites" (rides, restaurants, food, etc.)

~ In bags ~
- 2 bottles of water
- Pretzels
- Candy of some sort
- Disney pencil
- Deck of cards with our name and date
- Mini portable misting fan (maybe)
- Anything we may find in the Disney outlet or on ebay...

A lot of the cute stuff I'm putting in the kids' bags. I'm sure I'll have ton of other ideas as time passes :scratchin It's always a work in progress ;)

For our welcome baskets I designed a logo that I had printed on little lunch cooler bags. Inside we put:

-water
-park maps
-disney chapstick
-hand held fans
-disney pez
-mickey shaped cookies we made
-a fairy tale wedding music cd
-a mickey trivet we found on sale (we looked nuts walking out of that disney store with 30 tiles!)
-some disney toys only for people with kids
-popcorn
-disney mini playing cards

This is what we put in our bags:

Sadly my hubby and I can't afford to have our Vow Renewal at Disney for our Cinderella Theme and are having it in New Orleans (hubby's Birth state) instead. I'm also going with canvas bags however the items in our's are going to be New Orleans Themed (throw beads, a Venetian mask which ironically got my first venetian mask music box at Disney during my first trip, chips, water, doubloons, a CD-rom cookbook with recipes for traditional New Orleans Recipes for them to recreate at home, a welcome booklet, a hand written thank you note, an invitation to our Welcome Party, After Party, and Farewell Brunch, directions from the hotels, Weekend Itinnerary, etc. Does anyone have any links of templates that I can use for making the front tag on our bags shaped like a Castle and also some Cinderella Clip Art or images to use. Any ideas at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help. Please send me a private message on here and I'll send you a message with my e-mail address. Thanks again.

I got these AWESOME reusable shopping bags from the Disney Store Outlet, some have Tinkerbell, some of Mickey and the rest are Wall E and we will fill them with folders with various information (including a special welcome message from the two of us). I haven't bought anything else, but I want to do a bare necessaties package, water bottles with our own label, and probably disney dollars, snacks, and some other fun dodad. Probably something special for those with kids.

The awesome reusable shopping bags were $2.00 a piece and they are really nice sized. I couldn't have come across a better deal, I hit the jackpot there! :)
