What did WE celebrate? .. 30 days of Disney fun and food! Update 04/02

I remember Annette's from our last trips and we loved it too. Loved that the servers wore rollerskates to serve. Do they still do that now?

We are thinking about trying out Walt's and Inventions, as Dave saw someones review of the place and the amount of food there, looks delish :teeth:

Oh thank you for the postcard btw v cool. Dave loves that Jack and Sally are on it, he thinks they are very overlooked in Florida.

Thanks for the offer, I am sure I will be bending your ear with questions before we go :teeth:

Some of the servers are still on rollerskates! It was fun to watch them and they were pretty good, since the restaurant was pretty packed and they managed to get by without blinking an eye! :goodvibes

As I mentioned before - we love Walt's - we just wish they would change the menu more often.
If you decide to eat there try to get a table at the time when the parade is (or the character caravan or whatever they call it now) and ask for a window table looking out on Main Street - best seat in the house!

I am glad you liked the postcard and I am actually surprised it has already arrived - we mailed it inside the MK and the girl selling the stamps warned us that it might take "a day or two" until it got emptied!

Feel free to ask questions - I'd love to help you out!

Oooh....that sandwich looks so good from Wolfgang's. Mark and I definitely have to put that on the list. Between that and Earl of Sandwich and you and Nicki telling me how good they are, we've got to add them.

:thumbsup2 You won't regret it! We are so looking forward to NOT being on the DDP in February, so we can have some food from Wolfgang's AND the Earl of Sandwich! They are both really yummy and you can't beat EoS prices!!

I just noticed your ticker, Christine! :woohoo: :yay: :woohoo:
How long are you going to stay, and where will you stay? I am SO happy for you to be able to spend some time with Mickey!

We were thinking of you and talking about you a lot while at DLRP. Picked up a few bits and pieces there for you and hope that you will share some sweets with little Sophia. Guess there should be enough to share!

OH my!!! I promise to share with Sophia - thank you!!

I was just about to email you about this unexpected trip - then went back to look at all those delicious food photos and forgot. Also forgot I'd added a countdown.:confused3 someone told me it's called anesthesia brain and will take time to recover...that's my story and I'm sticking with it.:thumbsup2

Sending an email!! Oh, 4 ngts at VWL!! arriving on the 18th, leaving on the 22nd (my birthday), but taking the train so we will have almost the entire day at Disney.:dance3:

Awesome that some of them are still on skates :teeth:

I did hear that Walt's was a good spot to see the parade if you are lucky enough to get a window seat. We still haven't decided on times that we want to eat. Debating whether to just try walk ups or make reservations, what do you think?

The postcard is really cool, thank you again :)

I just looked at your ticker and it SAYS Wilderness Lodge! :lmao:
Can't tell you how happy it makes me that you will get to go to WDW for your birthday! :dance3:

Walt's is fairly popular, so if you want to be sure to eat there you should make a reservation. Especially at Christmas time!
We tried a walk up at the Silverspur and it was for 3 hours later!! :scared1: So I'd rather have an ADR for a more regular time to eat!

I do have photos of the food at Walt's on my homepage - you will find the link in my signature - go to 2007 - there should be two trips to DLRP and you will find photos and links to the food pix in them.

As always, that WPE sandwich has got my mouth watering.

Let's see...it's only 8:30 and my WPE is only 15 minutes from my house.....hmmmmm.....;)

There's a WPE in Cool Springs and I didn't know it?????!!!!

I know where I'll be tomorrow! :rotfl:

Thanks Dave!:cool1:

Okay, this might be a bit off topic, but I wanted to share two things with all of you!

1) Don't we all love Disney's reservation system? When it works, that is! :lmao:
Now, as you all know, we going back to WDW in February and decided against the DDP, so we could venture offsite and try some non-Disney eateries! :sad2: Yeah, I know, kind of unbelievable, but .............

So when my reservations (which had been hidden by the Disney reservation site) suddenly became available again I was shocked to see that I had as many as 3 TS ADRs a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner that is! ;))
Last weekend Tom and I sat down and talked about it and decided to turn a few things around and cancel most of the ADRs in favour of others and/or eating offsite.
Long story short - today was my day off and I thought why not make all the changes and cancel and rebook. I cancelled what I needed to cancel, then rebooked a few and was finally able to find the perfect time for a new California Grill ADR. Put in all the necessary data and hit the booking button and back came .............. an Error code.
I thought maybe I had made a mistake with my CC, tried again, same result. Over the day I tried at least ten times! :rotfl2: Now in the evening it really got me worried - I do NOT want to be charged for 10 reservations all at the same time, so called the dining line and voila - I did NOT have an ADR for CG, but now we do. Elisabeth, the friendly and helpful CM on the phone did that for us! :woohoo:

2) Last week I got home and emptied my mailbox and found a WDW postcard! I first thought - wow, must be from Stefy and Dave, but the handwriting didn't look very British. So I started reading and nearly fell over backwards - it was from our favourite server at the California Grill, Ron!! :thumbsup2
Last time we dined there we had talked about which park was our favourite and we told him that for us it was Disneyland in Anaheim, because it was the park we fell in love with and because it was where Walt walked. So it was a bit of history.
Now Ron wrote that he found this old postcard of WDW and thought of us and sent it to us!
Now that is what I call Disney Magic and Pixie Dust ......... a server writing postcards to his guests! ;)

I have to many photos in this post, so I need to cut this in half!
............. to be continued!

thanks for sharing the amazing surprised you recieved in the mail. That's wonderful that he remembered and mailed you something that would bring joy in your heart.
You made me :rotfl: about your ADR, I have been changing and cancelling our ADR's for our Decmeber trip...then they did the upgrade and I can't see any of the ADR for a couple of weeks. I read the disboard and I see people stating mine are back. So I called last week and cancelled our CRT dinner b/c with the new menu there is nothing that interet our 5 yr son to eat and he said another time then or eat at breakfast (we have an ADR or character meal ever breakfast so no can do). I made The Wave something on the menu we all would like...Anyway nothing is still listing my ADRs online but the CM said not to worry. My husband jokes mabye if you haven't changed and cancel like 50 times it would show up..:rotfl::sad2:

3) And I am ashamed to mention that I just didn't get around to do it any earlier - here's a HUGE THANK YOU to our friend Christine (Minnie&Nana) for sending us a wonderful Halloween Package!
It all started with me whining that we can't get all that nice Disney Halloween stuff here, when Kathy (KatMark) posted photos of her decorated house.
Christine offered to pick something up for us and send it and here is what we received!

A huge box!

Yes, it was such a surprise!

I read on the DISboards that other people's ADRs had disappeared - then I checked mine and low and behold they were all gone! :rotfl2: It didn't have me too worried as I was able to pull them up manually at first, but then I could not access them ANY way!
And please tell your DH, that changing one's ADRs around is part of the fun of planning! :rotfl2: I have done it so often that in the end I lose count and need to sift through ALL my ADRs to find out which ones are still on the list!

Yikes that would have been a bit messy if you had had 10 ADR's at CG. Luckily it was all sorted and managed to score an ADR :)

How cool that Ron sent you a postcard, that was really sweet :)

Awesome Halloween package, your house is going to look very Disney Spooky next year :teeth:

You have no idea HOW worried I was in the end, thinking I was blocking ALL the tables and being charged for the empty ones! :lmao:
But thankfully everything worked out in the end.

As for Ron's postcard - I was SO surprised! Tom and I joked that either we REALLY spend too much time at some restaurants, or we might tip quite well! ;)

Tom and I were so surprised when that package arrived and the decorations are all SO beautiful! We will have a real Halloween house next year! :woohoo:

Wow, as usual, had some catching up to do.:rotfl:

Oh my gosh, what a scare about your dining reservations! That would have been nerve wracking!! Glad it is all sorted out and for the best - with no additional stress. ::yes::

Disney's system is showing it will be down again on the 16th until the afternoon of the 17th....hope none of our reservations disappear as we arrive the next day. It going to be a very busy few days, but no worries - at least we're there and whatever we don't get to ride, that's just fine as there is always another visit sooner or later. :dance3:

How thoughtful of Ron to send the postcard - now that's the kind of CM Walt would be very proud to call one of his own.:goodvibes

Aw, you are so very welcome for the box and so glad you both enjoyed everything. :) I felt bad there was so little to choose from that was decent, so finally decided to add the tacky stuff for filler or the box would have been nearly empty!:scared1: Thanks for being good sports about all the not so great items.:goodvibes

If you'd like a few more window clings, just let me know which style you prefer and I will get some in the mail earlier next year. ::yes::

Gee, I never read any whining coming from Austria - just a post mentioning not being to find any Halloween Mickey decorations. :teeth:
