What did WE celebrate? .. 30 days of Disney fun and food! Update 04/02

Ooh Karin, your in room dinner looks yummy
It's really nice to have the space to relax and eat at a leisurely pace :thumbsup2

Looks like you had a refurbished OKW unit! If you don't mind telling, what unit number were you in? Was it a one bedroom? We are headed there in January!

So funny about the Krispy Kremes! I from the North Carolina where they are so common and so loved they are literally are sold by people at stoplights on commuter roads. My parents gave me a KK for my 1st birthday "smash cake" and love for them has grown since. Sorry they're so rare for others!

Lucky you!!
We drove by the shop on I 95 so often and never gave it a thought - than I read about them in Poohshoneypot's trip report and on our next trip we checked it out and fell in love with them - especially when they come hot off that conveyer belt! ;)

Thanks for the update, I love Krispy Kreme and I'm hoping they have them at Tusker House breakfast.

I know they had them at CP when we had breakfast there, so I guess you'll get lucky at Tusker House.

What is wrong with me I am definately OLD ,yet I never tire of eating out !!!!!:rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Guess you got ALL the energy I was lacking those days! ;)

MMMMMM Krispy Kremes.

:thumbsup2

Thank you, Linda! It was so nice to have that villa and have all that space and that FRIDGE!!!! :rotfl2:

Yes, we had a refurbished villa both times we stayed there this year. In August we were in building 32 and in September in building 36. Both times we were in one bedroom villa.
We were on Turtle Pond Road and they were refurbishing quite a few units on the other end of the road, so I guess all of Turtle Pond Road should be done by the time you are going.

Day 4, August 17

Lunch at Pepper Market

There were lots of leftovers in the fridge for breakfast, so we had a relaxing morning "at home", before we went out in search for watershoes again.

Around noon we decided it was time for some lunch and we had our heart set on The Mara at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. So we drove to the Lodge, enjoyed the grounds for a while and then went to The Mara, which was packed! :scared1:
It didn't take us long to decide that we didn't want to be a part of the crowd, so we left in search for somewhere else to dine.

On our way back we came past the Coronado Springs Resort and decided to try the Pepper Market.
We were shown to a table in a rather empty restaurant right away, were served our drinks, yip, Diet Cokes again! ;)

The server then explained that we were supposed to take the little card to a station and pick up our food.

Tom went to the Grill Station

and got the BBQ Ribs - with coleslaw and fries. It was a real generous portion, the meat fell off the bone and there were loads of fries and the server brought some ketchup. The coleslaw could have used a little bit more seasoning, but all in all he REALLY enjoyed his meal there.

I went to the Pizza and Pasta Station

and got the Pappardelle Pasta with Alfredo Sauce and Chicken - with garlic bread. I was amazed to see that they actually cooked fresh pasta and made a sauce out of prepared components, but nevertheless it felt freshly cooked and was VERY nice. Tender moist pieces of chicken in a well seasoned sauce over a HUGE portion of pappardelle pasta. Would not have needed the garlic bread, but it was yummy anyway. Loved it and we will definitely be back.

Since we used our DDP credits and were too stuffed to have dessert there and then we decided to ask to have two desserts boxed up.

Tom chose a Cheese Danish, which was moist, with lots of yummy cheese filling. Unfortunately we never had "that much" appetite to ever finish it. We had a piece of it with coffee in the afternoon, but we never finished it. :sad2:

I got the Pecan Pastry, which was really nice, but we only ate part of it for coffee. It had lots of yummy pecans and was HUGE!!!

Pepper Market is on our list for revisits - definitely! :thumbsup2

Price breakdown:
DDP - 24 credits to start with
Pepper Market .... $ 41,20 (2 CS credits)
TS credits left - 20
CS credits left - 19
Snack credits left 20

Overall money spent on DDP: $ 248

Next up - dinner at The Turf Club

Karin, so glad you and Tom went over to the Pepper Market. The Pappardelle Pasta with Alfredo Sauce and Chicken looks really good (I missed it when we ate there last month) and that will definitely be on my list for next year. :goodvibes

Always love your reports we leave in 55 days so it is helping us decide our CS places. :woohoo:

Thank you! :goodvibes I hope these reviews will help with your decisions and that your vacation will be as magical as ours was! :thumbsup2

A little late but I am signing up!!

I am loving your report! You have great pictures and I love that you are very descriptive and include pricing since we will be OOP for our December trip. I was on the fence about Via Napoli but I definately will be keeping my ressie now! Looking forward to the next installment popcorn::

Those ribs look amazing! Are they worth skipping WPE on our arrival night for?

:welcome:
It's real nice to have you here!
I am glad you are keeping your Via Napoli ressie because it is a wonderful new addition to the Disney restaurants - we loved the food so much, we skipped our reservation at Tutto Italia towards the end of our trip to have another meal at VN! :thumbsup2

Are you really asking me if I am FOR skipping WPE? :rotfl2: NO WAY!!!!!!!

The ribs were amazing, but Wolfgang is a fellow Austrian, so he gets my vote any day! ;)

Well there ya go, spoken from a true WPE fan

She sure did didnt she LOL

Ok ok I get the hint...stick with my arrival plans of WPE, get my tickets and then go to the CBR ;) But what if I go to EoS for the holiday sandwich, would you ever forgive me? :rotfl2:

:lmao: I am trying to ignore your EoS question here! :rotfl2: Us Austrians must stick together - so ............. ;)

I can't wait for you to go to WDW! Your live reviews are the best! And you have my true admiration :worship: as I would NOT be able to do a live review - no way! :sad2:

:rotfl2:

Tell us how you REALLY feel about WPE. ;)

Dave, don't you start! :lmao: ;)
I guess I deserve all that WPE teasing .......... ;) But one needs to support a restaurant where the servers recognize you from your last trip! :rotfl:

In order to do a LIVE review one needs a husband that wants to stay in the room and nap his vacation away :rotfl:

Funny enough, I told Todd that I didnt want to bring the computer and skip the live review this time and his response?

"No way can you do that to your Dis friends, they will never ever forgive you"

And then Kathy said

"I'll kick your butt if you dont do a live review"

So there you have it, I will be doing the live review next month :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Todd, you are MY hero! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Kathy, you are a girl after my heart!

Nicki, you are the queen of dining reviews! :worship: :worship: :worship: So go and have fun and eat and WRITE for all of us to enjoy!

Karin, if I'd had a SECOND drink when she told me this, I would have FALLEN off my chair. NOT do a live review? Are you NUTS? After I told her that everyone considers her the Food Porn Queen. I know where she works now....so there better be a LIVE review.

Two more days to go on my TR before I get to our week with the Food Porn Queen and ALL of our excitement. ;)
