What did WE celebrate? .. 30 days of Disney fun and food! Update 04/02

Great reviews so far! Can't wait to read the rest and drool over your pics!

:welcome:
I am so happy you enjoy the reviews so far. LOADS more photos to come! :goodvibes

Great updates, you guys must have made a great impression for 2 CM to remember you guys.:goodvibes

Thank you! :goodvibes
We couldn't believe that TWO CMs would actually recognize us as "regulars". :lmao: But then we visited several times in February and stayed for a month last summer as well, with several visits to the restaurant! ;)

Hmmm.....I want to go back to WPE and try a pizza! Great pictures and reviews Karin!:thumbsup2

I love WPE, I had the chicken and those to die for garlic mashed potatoes with the big load of butter on them. MMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMM Delish

Oooh....the food at The Wave looks so yummy. We really need to get that on our list one of these trips.

Why am I NOT surprised that the CM's recognized you and Tom at WPE? :lmao::lmao:

Sorry for not updating in a while, Wednesday to Friday are my LOOOOOONG days at school and I just never got around to check in with an update.

Tom and I love WPE too (as if I had to mention that :lmao:) Don't remind me of the chicken and garlic mashed potatoes .......... :cloud9:

Your reviews are great! We have WPE in the city near me, but it's still better at Disney!

Oh, I envy you ........ we need to sit on a plane for 11 hours to get to the nearest WPE! ;)
But I agree ........ Disney's is BEST!!!!!!

Oooh....the food at The Wave looks so yummy. We really need to get that on our list one of these trips.

We really LOVE the Wave. Not your usual fare and always very tasty. I love the idea of 3 little desserts to try instead of just one.

As for the CMs to recognize us at WPE .... it was kind of :scared1: since we had last been there in February! Maybe it helped that we visited "several" times during our one week vacation! :rotfl2:

Really enjoying your reviews and pics! :goodvibes

Thank you so much! More coming up shortly!

Still Day 3, August 16

Late Lunch at Saratoga Springs' Artist's Palette

So we set out on a quest for water shoes and some serious window shopping.

In the late afternoon we were back at Walt Disney World and since we were still holding an ADR for Artist's Point that evening we just wanted to share a CS credit to keep us going until our 9pm ADR.

We went to Saratoga Springs' Artist's Palette. We had been there before and loved the menu.

They have really nice made to order flatbreads and that is what we ordered.

The Cheeseburger Flatbread! It has all the components of a cheeseburger, but they are all distributed on the flatbread. Messy to eat, but such a nice change from the usual CS fare.

We chose 2 desserts to go with our meal and two Diet Cokes.

Tom decided on a fruit cup. Fresh cut fruit in a plastic cup - the melon pieces were nice and juicy (according to Tom) and I had to pick out a few grapes which were too soft and mushy for my liking.

I chose one of my favourite desserts - carrot cake. I really liked it. Soft, moist carrot cake covered with a thick layer of icing. Yip, it is sweet, but still so yummy!

After we had finished our meal we drove over to OKW and chilled for a while. We didn't see a visit to Artist's Point on the horizon that evening so we cancelled our ADR.

Price breakdown:
DDP - 24 credits to start with
Artist's Palette .... $ 20 (1 CS credits, 2 snack credits)
TS credits left - 20
CS credits left - 21
Snack credits left 20

Overall money spent on DDP: $ 206,80

Next up - a dinner at home at OKW

We have a WPE in our town too. In fact it is only a couple blocks from my office. But I have to say - I CAN (and in fact, do) finish that pizza!

The flatbread looks yummy Karin!!!

They have quite a variety of "special" flatbreads that cannot be found anywhere else. And they are all pretty good! :thumbsup2

Lucky you having a WPE closeby! :goodvibes ........ and :thumbsup2 for finishing the pizza.
I used to be able to do that too, but I needed to be REALLY hungry. Now, with being on the DDP I never seem to be that "lucky"! ;)

Still Day 3, August 16

Dinner at "home", our villa at OKW

Once we had made our mind up and cancelled our Artist's Point ADR we just enjoyed some time on the balcony and then decided to have an "in room" dinner of the stuff we never get around to have while on the DDP!
So off we went to Publix to do some shopping and we came home with a table full of goodies (which we had lots of leftovers of and we had those for breakfast for a few days in a row).

So, here are a few photos of our dinner.

There's a pizza ring, which was heated in the microwave, loads of different salads, bread, tortilla chips and lots of dipping sauces. Might not sound all that interesting to you, but to us it brings back fond memories of our first visits to the USA!

Needless to say we needed dessert!
Now, this particular dessert we discovered here on the DISboards. I read about it/them in a trip report and we were too intrigued to not find out about them. Ever since we tried them for the first time they are a must have on every trip! (We even have the address of the shop saved in our GPS!)

Yip, they are Krispy Kreme doughnuts and yes, there was a whole dozen, but since the "Hot Now" sign was on when we picked them up we "had to" give them a try there and then. :rotfl2:

After such a wonderful meal we enjoyed some more time in front of the TV, stuffed, but happy!
Next up - lunch at Pepper Market

Oh, KRISPY KREME--my favorite and we have NONE left here--they've now closed them all. I like your "in room dinner." Sometimes it gets old going out every day. ;)

I knew YOU would appreciate the Krispy Kreme photo - I ate one in your honour! :rotfl2: .......... the things I do for my friends! :lmao:

You are right about dining out getting old .......... scary thing - it got old on the third day we were there!

So funny about the Krispy Kremes! I from the North Carolina where they are so common and so loved they are literally are sold by people at stoplights on commuter roads. My parents gave me a KK for my 1st birthday "smash cake" and love for them has grown since. Sorry they're so rare for others!
