What did WE celebrate? .. 30 days of Disney fun and food! Update 04/02

I have yet to get an ADR at Le Cellier and I know it won't happen in Dec when there are 8 in the party :sad2:!!

I love your dining reviews!! You holiday how I hope to some day!!

:welcome:
I am so happy you like my reviews! :goodvibes
We love our holidays too - I would recommend them to everyone! :thumbsup2

Dizneeat, we are at WDW now at SSR and I want to let you know that due to your review I had the 4 cheese pizza with pesto at WPE and loved it! You are so right about it!:thumbsup2

Wow! Thanks for letting me know! I am SO glad you liked the 4 cheese pesto pizza! :thumbsup2
Enjoy the rest of your vacation!!! :)

YAY FOR YOU AND TOM!! I knew it would all work out and I would love to take a weekend and drive up to WDW just to have drinks with you guys!!

And thanks for the birthday wishes....I feel ancient old now, and as my little sister keeps reminding me, 40 is around the corner! EEK!

You're a kid!!!!!!!!! Disney lovers NEVER grow up and NEVER grow old (even though they might hit the occational milestone birthday! :lmao:)

Thank you for your pixie dust and crossed fingers! We are SO excited we get to go in February - in only a little over three weeks we'll hit the double digits for that vacation! :yay:

You are always welcome if you want to come visit us at WDW - either in February or in the summer (or we might just make an overnight trip to Naples in the summer ;))

Great review of Le Cellier, which is one of my favorites. I have two ressies there for next month :goodvibes

Thank you! :goodvibes Enjoy your two ressies and if you can - ask for Brandan! ;)

First, Nicki keeps getting all this attention there will be no LIVING with her. :rotfl2::rotfl2: Just kidding...she knows I love her (except she is STILL A BABY in my eyes).

Yay, for Tom getting the time off. I knew it would happen. I just kept repeating "Just Keep Swimming, Just Keep Swimming" and it works magic for those little things we want with all of our heart.

Hooray for changing to Old Key West for part of your trip this summer.

And lastly that cruise sounds wonderful. Maybe by then we can convince our husbands to go. Although Mark already said he'd do one with me in 2013 which will be a special birthday for him and our 30th wedding anniversary.

:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

Thank you for your "keep swimming" magic! I tried to be positive about the whole thing, but I kept checking my option - but getting to go in February and meeting Tina is the BEST option!

Guess what, I checked the itineraries for the Disney Fantasy today and we might not book a cruise there after all! :rotfl2:
They are doing alternate 7 day Western and Eastern Caribbean cruises, but we would only get 1 Castaway Cay day out of that - so I checked the Disney Dream, which is doing the Bahamian cruises and they are doing 5 and 4 night cruises! If we were to do a 5 and a 4 night cruise we would have 3 Castaway Cay days and the two nights would only cost us $400,- more!!
So much planning to do .........

Happy Birthday to Nicki! I love her trip reports too! I am excited that she will be traveling for her anniversary. Take lots of pictures :-)

So glad that you will be here in February. Such a nice time to be in Florida, not too hot but still warm enough to enjoy being outside.

I am off to Epcot's Food and Wine Festival tomorrow, can't wait for the short ribs in France! They are so good!

Have a great day off!

Thank you for your nice comment! We love Florida in February - so different to the HOT summer months!

Have a fun time at the Food and Wine Festival! Hope you are doing a review too! :goodvibes

1)Told her happy b-day on Facebook. :thumbsup2

2) That's great news, it would be so unmagical if you couldn't go in February.

3) How fun!

4) I really want to go on a cruise too - Maybe on the Fantasy, I definatly want to try one of the new ships.

And days off are always fun - it's my day off too!

:thumbsup2
Thank you for sharing our excitement about being able to go back in February!

Both the Dream and the Fantasy look great! I cannot wait for our back 2 back 2 back this summer!

Great review of Le Cellier. I love that cheese soup for the breadsticks too.

I think I'm going to try it next year when it becomes a signature restaurant, and see if it's worth it. I'm planning on the deluxe DDP next year, so the credits won't be an issue to me.

Thank you!
Cheesesoup and pretzel bread is a marriage made in heaven! :cloud9:

We have a reservation for February (which I made while we were on vacation in the summer) and I wonder if they will change the menu. :confused3
Good luck on the DxDDP - we "enjoyed" it for nine nights this summer and we had a hard time using up our credits! I guess in a different season it is okay, but during the hot summer months we were struggling!

Delicious LeCellier! YUMMERS! Last time I was there, I made some smart comment to the CM like, "I can make you laugh." She said, "Go ahead." I said, "I'd like an ADR for 5:00 today for a table for 4." Then I laughed. She got me--she turned to me and said, "I can do that." I was SHOCKED!

So happy for you getting your vacation in February!

Thank you!
I loved your little LeCellier story! :lmao: Yes, those Disney CMs can work quite some magic - and always when you least expect it - and they can make you laugh! ;) :goodvibes

Wow, you've certainly got a lot of things to celebrate today:goodvibes

Happy Birthday, MickeyNicki:cheer2:

Thank you! It was such a happy day yesterday! We really were excited about the news! :goodvibes

That is so awesome! Thank you so much, I am going to use it as my screen saver :lovestruc

Ok Karin, I am done hijacking your thread :rotfl2: You and Kathy are going to come at my thread hard in November aren't ya!?!

I hope you noticed that the cake reads - 16th birthday!! :lmao:

No problem hijacking the thread! You are always welcome to do so whenever you want!
You can bet I'll be "hooked" on your dining review! :lmao:

I LOVE THE MICKEY AND NICKI BIRTHDAY CARD. I want one too! :lmao::lmao:

Nicki, you are hijacking MANY threads today...but I can't think of anyone more deserving.

Okay, Karin, we are ready for an update now. :)

I handed your request for a Mickey and Kathy (and Grumpy) card over to Tom, he has the BEST ideas and is able to make them come alive! So, watch out!!!!:woohoo:

Wasn't able to do an update yesterday, lots of planning to do, but I will try to do one today! :goodvibes

thanks for the Le Cellier review - if all goes to plan we will eat there for the first time on Tuesday and the mushroom filet looks amazing.

Thank you! I'm keeping my fingers crossed they'll have a mushroom filet reserved for you on Tuesday! Think of me, freezing here in Austria while you enjoy! :goodvibes

That mushroom filet looks scrumptious- I really need to get there for dinner. I had no idea it was becoming a Signature Restaurant! When is that supposed to happen?

And I agree 1000% with Brandon-that pretzel bread is daBOMB with the cheese soup!! :cloud9:

A Disney cruise in the Caribbean is amazing- we leave for our second Western next Thursday- so excited!! Can't wait to go on the Fantasy one day- or/and the Dream! So happy for you and all of your upcoming vacations....:goodvibes

And....Happy Birthday, MickeyNicki! :bday:party::bday:

No wonder it's becoming a signature restaurant - the food is devine and we rave about it too much on here! :lmao:
I can't remember exactly when it is going to convert to signature, but I guess it is March. :confused3

We are already rethinking the Caribbean cruises , we love Castaway Cay, so maybe, but just maybe we'll do another 2 Dream cruises instead of the Caribbean ;)
Hope you do a review of your cruise, soI can have some help making my mind up!

:goodvibes Happy Birthday to Nicki and YAY for your February trip!

Our trip is still a loooooong way off so I will have to satisfy my Disney fix with both of your always terrific reviews! :lovestruc

Thank you for sharing our excitement!
There are lots more reviews to be done here to help us pass the time until we all get to go to WDW again! ;)

THIS MADE MY DAY!!!!! :hug:I am so super excited, Karin, you have no idea! We can't wait to meet you and Tom. I know its going to make this trip extra super special. And I hope that means we're on for EMHs at MK.

And Happy Birthday, Nicky!!!!! :bday:party:party::woohoo::dance3::woohoo:

:woohoo: :yay: :woohoo: :yay: :woohoo:
We ARE going to meet!!! YEAH!!!!!!
The first thing I said to Tom when I recovered from the actual shock of knowing for sure that we can go was "We're going to meet Tina!"

I cannot wait for the next 122 days to go by and we can go back to our happy place and spend EMHs with you all!

I have yet to get an ADR at Le Cellier and I know it won't happen in Dec when there are 8 in the party :sad2:!!

Hm, LeCellier and a party of 8 seems hard, but keep trying ......... sometimes you do get lucky! :thumbsup2

So happy for you and Tom - what a great day :cool1:

Thank you! Truely a day to celebrate and so we did! I even got some cake from my favourite Patisserie! ;)

Okay, let me start this off with more news.
Since we now have the official okay for our February vacation I went right ahead and booked our flights to Orlando!

The other thing is that we discussed back and forth about OKW and have now FINALLY booked OKW from Aug 13 - 21, 1 bedroom villa with a 42% discount :woohoo: AND free dining :woohoo: (And I vowed NEVER to do the dining plan again, just 6 weeks ago! :rotfl2:)

All we need now is some Disney pixie dust and a good AP discount for our February room, which I would love to upgrade to moderate with the discount and a nice discount for September so I can change POR to OKW there too! But we'll see! We are happy to be able to go to WDW in the first place! :dance3:

Still Day 6, August 19

A snack credit from Old Key West

Okay, this is going to be a very short update!

When we went to DTD we bought a non expiration option for our 7 day water fun and more tickets. The CMs at guest relations went back and forth to take the tickets off the KTTW and when they couldn't do it I was worried they might have messed up my DDP.
So, when we got back to OKW we went to the Conch Flats General Store and looked for a snack credit to try if the credits were still there!

Here is what we picked:

IMG_5842.jpg

IMG_5845.jpg

Mickey Puffy Cheese Crackers. They actually travelled on the Disney Wonder to Nassau twice, back to OKW and home to Austria with us, where we tried them one afternoon while watching Chef Ramsay! :rotfl2:
Yes, they are nice! I am going to get some more in February! :thumbsup2

Price breakdown:
DDP - 24 credits to start with
OKW snack .... $ 3,50 (1 snack credit)
TS credits left - 14
CS credits left - 17
Snack credits left 16

Overall money spent on DDP: $ 554,90

Next up - Breakfast at Wolfgang Puck's Express

Day 7, August 20

Breakfast at Wolfgang Puck's Express

After getting up early we decided to start the day off with a hearty breakfast and so some more shopping since we were still missing a few things for our upcoming cruise.

We went to our favourite CS spot, Wolfi's!!!!!!!!

IMG_5849.jpg

IMG_5846.jpg

Tom ordered some coffee and I had some tea. Tom likes their coffee, it is not as weak as the regular Disney stuff and I really enjoy their tea!

We got two more beverages on the DDP so we chose

IMG_5847.jpg

a bottle of water and

IMG_5848.jpg

and orange juice.

Tom ordered his favourite on the menu!

IMG_5853.jpg

Wolfgang's Breakfast Pocket - Scrambled eggs, peppers, Niman Ranch Bacon, onions, mushrooms, mozzarella and cheddar cheese baked into Wolfgang's pizza dough and served with breakfast potatoes! It is always yummy! He cleaned his plate!

I got my favourite too!

IMG_5851.jpg

IMG_5855.jpg

Smoked Bacon Pizza - scrambled eggs, tomatoes, mozzarella and cheddar cheese and Ranch Dressing. I never knew that scrambled eggs could taste that wonderful on pizza dough, but mix it together with warm mozzarella and sharp cheddar, topped with Ranch dressing! :cloud9:
I think I ate all but one slice - it was so good!

We then left and went offsite shopping and visited the Disney outlet stores as well.

Price breakdown:
DDP - 24 credits to start with
Wolfgang Puck's Express .... $ 30,90 (2 CS credit)
TS credits left - 14
CS credits left - 13
Snack credits left 16

Overall money spent on DDP: $ 585,80

Next up - Lunch at Earl of Sandwich

That looked soooo good! :goodvibes That Niman Ranch bacon is incredible- I saw it at Trader Joes a week ago for $4.50 a package....my freezer is STOCKED!!!

Your breakfast pocket sandwich looks wonderful!!!!!!!! It reminds me of the sandwichs they got rid of with when the new menu came out. SNIFF SNIFF. I wish they bring it back before we go in December. I'm sure there are other things I'll like but those darn pocket sandwichs were wonderful wonderful wonderful. I guess I'll need to make a breakfast run one morning. Thanks for sharing all of your reviews with us! :cool1: :cool1:

Karin, As usual another great food report. I really enjoy them. I'm jealous, if I spent 30 day eating at Disney I would be as big as a house. I can't control myself for the week I'm there, I can't imagine 30 days. Glad you got your Feb vacation. I'm curious, what are the dates, I'm going to be there the 10-15th. It would be really cool to meet you and Tom after reading so many of your reports over the years.

Every time I see that breakfast pizza, I go weak in the knees. I CANNOT WAIT to try it.

Me too! ;) I cannot wait to have another one - only 120 more days to go! :goodvibes

We'll be at Disney February 14-19! :)

Still loving your reviews!

You'll leave the day we'll arrive! I hope you are having a blast while at WDW! :goodvibes

That looked soooo good! :goodvibes That Niman Ranch bacon is incredible- I saw it at Trader Joes a week ago for $4.50 a package....my freezer is STOCKED!!!

Ellen, that breakfast pizza is incredible! Good for you to stock up on the bacon, it is SO yummy!!!! :thumbsup2

Tom loves that breakfast pocket and he loved the other pockets they had on the menu too! So sad they took them off the menu!!! :sad2:
But the breakfast pocket is worth getting up early and going to DTD! It's really yummy!!! :thumbsup2

Hi Karin I am back !!! Loved the breakfast pix !!! By the way I started my TR!!!!

Welcome back, Rosie! :goodvibesI have already signed up for your TR! Can't wait to read all about your fun adventures! popcorn::

Thank you! I am glad you enjoy reading the my reviews.
Somehow with all the walking and the heat in August/September the food doesn't "stick" as much as usual!
We will go to WDW Feb 19 - 26, so unfortunately we will miss you by a few days. :sad2:

Still Day 7, August 20

Lunch at Earl of Sandwich

Once we were done shopping we decided to just pick up some CS for lunch as we had a late dinner reservation at Boma.

Goods To Go didn't really appeal to us so on the way home we decided to make another stop at DTD and spend 2 CS credits at the Earl of Sandwich.
There was a HUGE line but it moved fairly quickly.

We decided to order two sandwiches to share.

IMG_5856.jpg

IMG_5857.jpg

IMG_5858.jpg

One of them was the Hawaiian BBQ - ham, grilled chicken, Hawaiian BBQ sauce, Swiss cheese and pineapple. A little on the sweet side, but still very nice - BUT rather sloppy to eat! :lmao: We were happy we were eating it back at the villa and no one was watching us making a mess. ;)

IMG_5859.jpg

IMG_5861.jpg

IMG_5862.jpg

The other sandwich was The All American - roast turkey, buttermilk ranch, cranberries, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and buttermilk Ranch. We both really enjoyed it. Very tasty and both sandwiches were still warm when we brought them back home to the villa.

Since dessert came with the CS credit we both chose one.

IMG_6024.jpg

IMG_6033.jpg

IMG_6034.jpg

I chose this dessert. It looked like your regular chocolate cake, but it was more like two muffin crowns "glued" together with lots of chocolate icing. It was only eaten a few days later and was surprisingly tasty and moist. Since it was very sweet I only managed to eat a few bites and it went back in the fridge. Took a few attempts to finish it! :lmao:

IMG_6023.jpg

IMG_6063.jpg

Tom chose the Breadpudding, which didn't get eaten until a few days later and it was still VERY good! I wish we had tried it right when it was purchased. I would order that again in a heartbeat.

As our drinks we picked up two bottles of water as we needed some for making coffee in our villa anyway. The water at Disney tasted VERY much of clorine this trip.

After finishing our lunch we spent some leisure time at the villa, especially since we had a long EMH night at the MK and a DISmeet ahead of us!

Price breakdown:
DDP - 24 credits to start with
Earl of Sandwich .... $ 22,90 (2 CS credit)
TS credits left - 14
CS credits left - 11
Snack credits left 16

Overall money spent on DDP: $ 608,70

Next up - Dinner at Boma

LOVE Earl of Sandwich. In fact, we were there for dinner just last night!!! I had the Holiday sandwich. My favorite!

Still loving this report Karin....keep it coming please!

EOS so good. We have never tried it before. The line is always so long! I am glad to hear it moves quickly so we'll definitely try it next time. Everything always sounds so good, I won't know how to choose.

The puffy cheese crackers look so cute! I don't remember seeing those so I will be on the lookout next time. Do they taste kind of like goldfish crackers?

Karin - your reviews and pictures always make me soooooo hungry!:goodvibes

Those EoS desserts look yummy! We didn't have the opportunity to eat there this time and now I feel sad about it!:sad1:
