What deals have you seen on a Kindle?

Still not decided whether I'm getting a Kindle Fire, or the HD version. I know Amazon had some for $129 last week, but now they are $159. Trying to decide if spending the extra to get the HD would be worth it.

I was just looking at the Best Buy flyer on-line and they have the Fire for $159 or $199 (depending on GB) each come with a $30 Best Buy gift card.

I saw that too, but it's an in store only deal. I'm not sure I want to brave going to best buy! :duck:

I didn't realize it was in-store only. DH went in there tonight and told me there are already about a half dozen tents with people camped out. That is what prompted me to look at the flyer. Nothing I can see waiting outside for more than 24 hours for!

I think Staples has them for $159 and $199 for HD and you get a $20 gift card. If you have a Meijers where you live I read they are offering a coupon for $30 off next shopping trip when you buy one.

Office Depot has them for $159 with a $20 Visa gift card. I like this better than the Best Buy card, since it can be used anywhere.

I just read a bunch of reviews and am thinking that the HD may be worth the extra money, but I also saw that neither come with even a charger... so you have to add at least $20 the price for the charger, then the case, etc... hopefully there will be a better deal soon. I'm not standing in any lines, so hopefully an online deal will come through!

My Kindle Fire came with a charger.

I think the newer models come with the USB cable but not the wall adapter. Most people have several of these around the house. Even if you have to buy one, you can get them for much less than $20.

This is from the website:
Kindle Fire HD tablet, USB 2.0 cable, and Quick Start Guide. Power adapter sold separately

So I guess non-kindle chargers work then? That's good to know, thanks!

Does it have to be a Kindle? I bought a Pandigital e reader last year from Walmart. It was around 80 bucks and works just fine. I have internet access and it has Barnes and Noble built in so I can download books. It was protected under warranty through the company for the year.
