What days does Disneyland do fireworks, in December?

Without fail, every single time DH has been to Disneyland (even as a kid), he has never seen the fireworks. The past few times we have went, they were cancelled due to wind, etc. We are planning on going in early December, but it's hard to make travel plans because DL doesn't announce their December event schedule until a month or two before. What days of the week does DL usually have fireworks, in December?

I took a quick look at the schedule from last December and they had fireworks every day that month!

a five night visit would probably be safe for at least one viewing of early December fireworks.......being a first week visitor of December, three night visits, there has always been one night canceled, so I plan as early as possible on the visit to view the fireworks.

Keep in mind there will be a couple of nights that are affected by early closures for CM parties and sometimes a private event, and you have Candlelight in there somewhere. Early December is a little funky, but some things just won’t be on the schedule until much closer. The crowds are much lighter though, LOVE that first week!

I would just aim for a Fri-Sun to be absolutely safe. They do not always do fireworks every night during the school year.

Where did you find it? I have searched all over the internet!

We are actually only planning on a Sunday or Monday visit. Just one day.:guilty:

We were looking at a Monday (thinking less crowds than a weekend).

I found it on Touring Plans historical crowd calendar. They post the entertainment schedules for every day. I have a membership so I was able to look it up. I'm not sure if you can see that info without one.

We were there in 2016, Dec 10-13, which was Sat thru Tuesday. Monday was still busy busy. I've heard that the first week in Dec is the best time to avoid the worst crowds.

Well....have your husband start writing a book about failure to launch situations in his vacation travels. We are still waiting for Russ Lasky or Roy Walley to have a sequel!!!!

Mondays are actually quite busy. I’d take a Sunday personally.

If you can, Saturday is much less crowded than Sunday (more passes are blocked out on Saturdays - depending on the exact time of the year). The last 3 Sundays are blocked out for Deluxe members in December. I'm a little surprised that smartlabelprint says Sunday is more crowded than Monday but I'm never there on a Monday so I wouldn't know. I do know Sundays are way worse than Saturdays. It's quite common for the M&F parking structure to become full sometime in the early afternoon on Sundays (it'll open up again in the evening). You know it's bad when both M&F and the Toy Story lot is full (and they'll send you to the convention center lot). I follow DisneylandToday on Twitter to know about parking lots closures. IF you drive, it'll save you a LOT of time if you know M&F is full and avoid getting off the 5 on the dedicated ramp.

I would 100% take Monday that week over a Sunday based on crowds alone. Sunday will no way be lighter than Monday that week as school is still in session and “Christmas” hasn’t been up that long yet so AP’s are still getting their Xmas spirit on before they aren’t blocked out. Just be prepared that you may get caught by an early closure or no FW. I want to say the CM party early closure night is like the first Tues/Wed of December if they even still do it.

I just checked and last year the 1st week of Dec, Monday was lighter than Sunday and they were open until 12am every day with FW. Subject to change as always though!

I would expect Candlelight to be the 1st and 2nd based on history though, I would avoid that weekend.

I'm okay with the average crowd, just trying to limit it as much as possible.

That is a surprise.

Can anyone post a screenshot of last December's calendar? :thanks:

Hmm, on Touring Plans, I can only bring it up one day at a time. Are there specific days you're thinking of?

The first Monday in December? We are looking to go December 3rd this year.

Be aware in your planning that the first weekend in Dec is usually the Candlelight Processional.

And Nov-Dec is a bigger issue with wind cancellations for fireworks.

What is this?
The first weekend in Dec, Disney does a reading of the Christmas story. It is usually narrated by someone "famous". Last year was Chris Hemsworth. They bring in choirs from around California. It really is awesome, but also is pretty crowded in the Town Square area. You can see a little in my avatar.

Here are a couple small parts from it.
