Exactly what the topic says:

What day of the week have you typically checked in (and by "checked in" I mean USING your points).

Keep in mind, we're talking about what you have done historically. NOT what you might do in the future.

We'll get to Length of Stay and "preferred new check in date" in different polls, later.

Always Sunday for us! Gives us all day Saturday to pack. We used to fly - but now we are much closer. We will start our 10 hour drive on Saturday night and check-in in the AM on Sunday!

We're from Florida so we almost never, other than he odd special occasion, ever use week-end points. Check in is on Sunday's and check out is on Friday's. By doing this, we are able to plan several stays a year. If I need a quick week-end stay we pay cash at the value resorts. I save the points for OKW villas.

I voted Saturday, but that's not the only time we check in. We've also checked in A LOT on Weds because airfare is cheaper. It's probably more like 60% Sat/ 40% Weds.

For us, though, we are going to trend toward more Friday or Saturday arrivals because our kids are getting older. When they were younger, going Weds-Weds wasn't a problem as far as school work. Now that we are entering the middle school years, it's going to be easier for them to work within a single week, if need be, than parts of two weeks.

Sunday, for obvious point reasons. Gotta get as much as I can with the points I have. Besides the parks are less crowded durring the week as opposed to the weekends.

We typically work M-F so our vacations usually start on a Sat. unless we're doing an extended trip. We usually go on Sat., stay for 7 n. and return the following Sat. That gives us Sun. to unpack & do laundry, mow the yard, get some groceries etc. before having to go back to work on Mon. Point value requirements for Fri & Sat are irrelevant (we bought it to use it) unless we have another mission on the horizon to use them for. This year is an exception. We're staying 3 n. at AKV starting next Thurs. on a DVC cash ressie then leaving on Sun. for DCL.

For us it's usually Friday. We drive from NY so we leave on Thanksgiving day and arrive the next day.

Still very interesting.

Sunday has pretty much run away with it, so far.

I voted Sunday. Not because I am trying to save points, although that is a huge bonus. We always drive from Massachusetts and begin our long drive on Fri. after work. We usually get to WDW really late on Sat. like 11pm or later. It is hard to determine for sure when we will get there so we always check in very early on Sun.

Always Saturday but I believe we will probably start on Sunday to save the points so we can stay 1 day more at Christmas or get larger room!:cool1:

We live too far away to do this maximize points on Sunday thing. And, I'm not willing to play musical hotel/timeshares to save a few dollars or points. We normally go for 10 nights but check-in day varies. Depends on what is going on in our daily lives. For example, for our next trip we are checking in on Sunday but that is because my dds have a swim meet Saturday. We'll fly red-eye Saturday night and arrive on Sunday. This is something I LOVE about DVC. I own other timeshares they are the fixed week type with check-in on Fri, Sat or Sun. It makes it hard to plan especially with kids approaching teenage years..

Good luck with the poll. I voted for none of the above.. as it varies for us.

Typically we come on Tuesday which, thanks to this poll, explains why we rarely get a room request for a high floor approved. They are already taken.

Thanks for all the votes, everyone.

This has been GREAT stuff! Very interesting.
