What day do you NOT go to the parks?

This summer I am taking my daughter and three of her friends to WDW for 12 days/12 nights to celebrate their HS graduations, but I did not want to buy her friends annual passes, so I bought them 10 day park hoppers, this means there are two days that will be resort days. Our arrival day will be a rest day after taking a red eye flight from Vancouver, BC, but what should I choose as the other resort day? My daughter and I have always had annual passes so we have always gone to the parks everyday, even if it was just for EMH, so I am not sure of the best strategy in picking a day off from the parks; do we choose day two of our trip, a certain day of the week, or the last day before we fly home? I would love to hear from anybody with experience with this situation,
TIA

We like having a pool day and/ or Shopping day at Disney Springs the second to the last day.

We've chosen a day in the middle of our time. We decided on Wednesday b/c there are no EMH.

I would choose a Saturday - Mini Golf, Disney Springs, and pool time are all good options.

Saturday actually seems like the best option, it is in the middle of our trip, and I won't be upset by missing AK EMH. It is also when we are still at BWV, once we are at the Poly I don't think I will be able to stay away from the MK.
Thanks everybody!

We go for Food&Wine hitting WS every afternoon, Sat is our day to kink back. We'll hit some other park for RD but around noon or so it's back to the pool. Just today I made a ressie at Raglan Road for Sat dinner on Oct 15.

I generally leave a couple days in the middle for non-park days but I also leave the last couple days unplanned. I find this works really well for us to avoid things like ADRs forcing us to use a park ticket on a day we just didn't want to be in the parks.

The middle of the trip is a good time for a rest day. We always have 10 day tickets, and try for the 5th or 6th day as a rest day, where we sleep in, enjoy the resort, and spend the afternoon at Disney Springs. We also usually get back to the resort after supper and get to bed a bit early that day.

We are taking 2 days off. A sunday and a wednesday. Not a science behind it other than it 2 on and 1 off, as we have 6 day tickets. We are staying at the Poly and hoping to relax a bit and maybe even spend some time renting a boat or going kayaking in the marshes or with manatees.

We do Wednesdays or Sundays depending on if we are driving or using disney transportation -
Wednesdays if disney
Sunday is driving (then we can go to church)

Agree with pps -- I'd choose something in the middle of the trip and aim for a Saturday as those can often be crowded at many parks. I was aiming for a Saturday for our trip but given we wanted to do MNSSHP later that day, had to move it to a Sunday. We're planning on sleeping in and then going to DTD/DS and the pool.

Depends on what your days are. In June we are need to take 2 days off so we won't be going to a park on arrival day (pool & dinner at Boma) or on Wednesday which is the middle of our trip.

We don't go to a park on our arrival day - we relax at the resort pool and then have dinner at California Grill. If it's a shorter trip that's usually our only non-park/non-water park day. On longer trips we'd take a day off in the middle of the week.

We go to a park every day of our trip whether a 5 day or a 14 day! :scared1: No "rest days" for us
We took our first mid day breaks on our trip in September (2 days I believe). We were barely swimming for maybe 30 minutes when I asked DF if he was ready to head back to the park:rotfl2:

Pick a day in the middle of the trip and rent a car over at Dolphin. Make the short drive over to the coast (Cocoa Beach Atlantic side or Ft. Desoto gulf side) and let them hang at the breach for the day. Take in a good meal while viewing the water also. :-)
