What color socks?

This is a dumb question, but I need an opinion.....
Ok, picture this outfit....darker (not too dark) blue jean, long sleeved tshirt....sortof dressy, but yet casual in either a light blue, or a light purple color. Comfy, slip on black shoes, again, dressy casual. Now, what color socks to wear? Black, white, or other? White seems to match better w/the shirt/jeans, but when you put the black shoes with it, doesnt seem to match. Black seems to match w/the shoes, but seems too dark w/the shirt. Impossible to find exact matching color socks w/the shirts. So, which color socks to wear?

I would vote blue if you're trying to match blue jeans... but you could also go with black because of the shoes.

NOT white!

That is too much of a contrast with the shoes. Don't worry about matching your shirt to your socks-- your shirt will be nowhere near your socks so it really won't matter.

On the other hand, black socks with black shoes are a much more streamlined look. It is also less noticible than if you wore white socks with black shoes. Nobody should be staring at your feet anyway...

I vote black socks.

I'd go with the black. Ideally for me anyway, you don't want to "see" the socks. You want them to blend in with the color of the shoes and the pants. I wouldn't try to match them with the shirt. It's better to match the socks to the pants and shoes.

I would go with black as well. I think white socks stick out way too much but that's just me!

Not white. And don't match your socks to your shirt. The only time I wear socks is with boots or my gym shoes. I hae socks.

Black.... but do you have to wear socks at all? Maybe you can get some of those "footy" socks (I can't think of what they're called) in black, and then they won't be visible at all.

I would wear black to match your shoes. Brown if the shoes were brown.

Black. Always try to match the sock with either the shoe or the pant. If they're a loafer like shoe, you could also go with no socks.

If you can see the toes at all, I'd go with the knee high pantyhose or wear nothing. If you're only seeing the top of the foot, I'd go with the black. I would also never base my options on the coloring in my shirt. There so far apart that it's irrelevant.
