What chances do we have at the 7 month window for ever getting a holiday ressie at...

VWL...............????? Any takers???!!! I just wonder how hard it is to get a ressie around Christmas or the week of Thanksgiving?? Is this an impossible thing?? We would need a 2br. I called today ....and could have gotten Nov. 21st and 22nd (weekend points) but nothing before that date or after. Now granted....this is not the 7 month window either. Just curious if anyone has ever gotten in there at the 7 month for a popular time of year??

Friends of ours will be staying at the VWL for Christmas this year. They own at SSR. I know that they are in a studio but I don't know if there were any other units available when they called.

This will be a tough one. Your best bet is always going to be to book at your home resort at the 11-month window and then try to switch at the 7-month window. You will probably need to get on the waitlist and it may never come through. This resort is extremely popular around the holidays. And since it is one of the smallest resorts .....

I called today just out of curiosity sake.....

We are staying SSR starting on Nov. 20th for 5 nights and waitlisted for the next two nights so we have OKW as backup. Anyway...called about the same dates at VWL and she had a 2br on Friday and Sat. 21st and 22nd (that makes sense) and Monday the 24th which surprised me. Cash was available on Sunday the 23rd but not DVC discounted. No cash on the 20th. Now I booked this Nov. trip less on Sat. Aug. 23rd and it got me thinking .....about what my chances might have been back in April.

Back at the 7 month mark, I could have change my 2br SSR reservation to BCV/BWV/VWL, (11/21-11/28). Only problem were the nights of the 27th and 28th. I called in and was prepared to call day by day(ah the good ol days), but DH didn't want to have to possibly change resorts back to SSR.

It's possible, but the odds are not in your favor if you want VWL, BCV or BWV. Most who try at 7 months will not be successful.

There is usually some availability for the Holiday weeks at 7 months for all of the resorts. But there are lots and lots and lots (did I say lots, LOL) of members vying for reservations at the smaller resorts when the 7 month mark hits, so if you get a reservation, consider yourself lucky.
