Would you consider it in the same exact category as Ruth's Chris? We were thinking of trying it but if it is really no different than Ruth's Chris then I think we may pass. Still not sure if we want to put that much money on a meal or not :confused3

They do have a dress code of business casual. I was upgraded to the Dolphin one year and all I had was polo shirts, shorts, and two pairs of capris - I couldn't get in.....

Same category! Both have excellent food if you're willing to pay through the nose. I loved it when we ate there, but I wasn't paying. I have a bit of trouble paying the same price for a filet when I can buy the whole tenderloin at Costco for the same price. For 5 of us, with wine, drinks, salads, soda and asst. steak dinners, $336 w/out tip!

It was excellent! Service and all not one single reproach!

Thanks for the reviews. I am having a hard time justifying the amount of money that is going to be spent on this meal as well! I am figuring it will be about $150 for the two of us. Will keep thinking about this one. I think it might be nice to dress up and go to dinner one night on our trip.

There are too many decisions that have to be made:lmao:

I like Shula's better than Ruth's Chris. I think the steaks are a higher quality and the service is much better and more accomodating. Ruth's Chris in Orlando on Restaurant Row is no big deal at all. Shula's has a much nicer atmosphere.

They do not enforce the dress code at Shula's. We went during the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival with our daughter, son-in-law and their 6 month old baby. We were all in shorts and they were more than happy to accomodate us. And they were so helpful with the baby, we had a wonderful meal!

Just a thought--we love steaks and are from NYC, so we are used to great steakhouses. We tried Shula's on our last trip after hearing great reviews and were pretty disappointed. The steaks were fine, but for that amount of money....well, we felt we could have spent the same or less and gotten better steaks off-property at Charley's or Vito's Chop house. They were well cooked, but lacked the flavor and juiciness we are used to in high quality steaks. I suppose it's possible we caught them on a bad night, but we still see that restaurant as being one of our biggest ever restaurant disappointments.

You will easily pay $150 at the Yachtsman Steakhouse, and not get as good a meal. I'd rate Shula's easily above Ruth's.

Justifying the money? I think if we sat back and really analysed what we spend for everything at WDW (or any other vacation resort), we would have a hard time justifying it. Your on vacation, if you can afford it, not justify it, then I spend it.

That's my financial version of Akuna Matada. :dance3:

I think you could reasonably state that Shula's and Ruth's Chris are in the same league. Whether one is better than the other might depend on the day and which Ruth's Chris you compare it to.:earsboy:
