What can you tell me about Via Napoli for lunch?

Earlier today I got an e-mail from one of my friends from Orlando who I am seeing on August 19th and she mentioned that she made an ADR for lunch at Via Napoli. Since I have never been there before what can you tell me about it?

When we were down there in May, we decided we didn't want to keep our Boma ADR that night. We walked into Via Napoli that afternoon and were offered a choice of ADR times for that night. We all three got pasta dishes which were wonderful. We saw the pizzas coming out though and they also looked very good. Our only complaint was the service was VERY slow. I enjoyed it so much that the day after we got home, I went online and made an ADR for my upcoming Sept trip, canceling one of my other ADRs to do so. I also have another ADR for Via Napoli for my upcoming Nov/Dec trip. I usually switch my ADRs up every trip, returning to only a very few favorite ones every trip. Via Napoli is falling into that 'must do every trip' category.

When we went in May the pizza was good and the place was busy. I wouldn't go there every trip, but wouldn't mind going every few trips. A good meal.

This will be our last meal at Disney before we head home. My husband requested we eat at Italy during our visit and after looking at both menus decided this one looked like it had something for everyone in our family.

Suggestions on which pizza to try?

With my less than adventurous group, we only tried the 4 cheese, but it was delicious.

I can tell you the food is amazing! The menu is the same all day long, no difference from lunch to dinner.

I just ate there last month, if you click on my May 11 thread there are tons of pics and more in my Feb 11 and Nov 09 (we ate there three times that trip)

I ate there a week after it opened and the pizza was amazing. The service was a little slow (but then again, they had just opened). The atmosphere is great, very lively, and bright. The portions were large, we ate there for lunch, but they do not change their menu so the same items that are there for lunch are there for dinner. Just expect to pay a little more than you would at a quick service restaurant. I believe the individual pizzas are around $17 (but they are very large "individual" portions).

I really like the pizza there, probably the best on property.

Perhaps it's the style of pizza and how it's meant to be, but in my opinion, it's all burnt! We ate there in early June and ordered pizza, and I was a bit concerned when I could see the pizzas on tables near to us were black and charred on the bottom. Sure enough, ours came out the same, but there was just no way that I could eat that! Basically eating charcoal... :confused3

They prepared another one, which of course was undercooked. It was 2 adults eating basic pepperoni pizza, and our meal was $50 with iced tea to drink. Definitely not on our list of places to go back to!

I could see them cooking the pizzas and they would manually hold the pizza up in the oven for part of the time while it was cooking. I assume it was an attempt to try to cook the top of the pizza without burning the bottom any further, but it didn't work. Top was undercooked and bottom charred. Was this just an off night for the pizza ovens or is this the norm? I'd read good reviews here and we were extremely disappointed.

Here's our Via Napoli story. I had been trying to eat there since it opened. We were there in August when it was just about to open, then I was there again in Dec and it was impossible to get in as a walkin. So, I booked it for our brief WDW stay in April.
We had been on the Dream for 4 nights prior to arriving at WDW for our two night stay. When we got to ViaNapoli, we were really interested to see how it would stack up. We had had horrible dining experiences on the Dream, so they didn't have to go far to beat those. So, I ordered the pepperoni pizza, dd had a plain cheese pizza and dh had a ceasar salad. OMG....that pizza was simply incredible. I didn't thnk it was burnt at all. It was cooked perfectly. The service was quite good. My dh said his salad was one of the best he has had, and dd couldn't stop raving about her pizza. I have booked it for our Oct trip with friends.

We had dinner there last week. We had a large pizza, 4 bowls of minestrone soup and two ice teas. Even after a 10% discount (?DVC card I think) the bill came to $93 before the tip was even added! The pizza was pretty good (though was pretty burnt) but come on...not worth the money as far as I'm concerned.
