One of my friends from Orlando was telling me that my family & I should try the Plaza restaurant at the Magic Kingdom. I saw the menu on Allears & I thought it was reasonably priced & there are a few things on the menu I would want to try. So can anyone please give their reviews about it? Also because we don't know what day in August we will be at the Magic Kingdom what are the chances we can get an ADR if we make it at the Contemporary on the Atrium Club for lunch time around 11:00 or 11:30 AM?

We tried the Plaza for the first time last year and liked it so much we have an ADR for this year (before MNSSHP). Last year, we made hte ADR just an hour before and had no problem getting a table so I wouldn't have thought you'd have too much trouble getting something last minute.

As far as the food goes, I had the chicken sandwich and DH had the burger. Both were nice - not great, but nice for what they were. For dessert, DH had the banana split and I had Applie Pie a la mode - wow, it was fantastic :thumbsup2 There was loads of it and it was the nicest apple pie I've ever had. I would definitely give it a go.

I was last there in '99, but~ It was air conditioned, and quiet, both VERY important to me, in the middle of an MK day. The food was simple lunch fare, IMO, well prepared. :thumbsup2

I also recommend it. we just ate there in June, and we called at 1:30 and got a ADR for 3:30 so day of is completely plausible. I just don't think most people know it exists. It is quiet, and very comfortable, I loved the linen/paper napkins. I had the tuna sandwich which was good, my husband had the Reuben which he really enjoyed, a friend of ours had the philly cheesesteak and he didn't really care for it, but his brother had the club and he seemed to like it. The price was right on, only about $10 per entree, it is also covered by the DDE cards.

My husband and I shared the brownie sundae (it is definitly sharable!) and it was excellent!

Be sure to try a Milkshake (i had vanilla) its was so nice i still talk about it a year on.

I have eaten there, and I have an opposing opinion. It was very crowded and quite noisey, tables on top of each other. Service was not great and the food was just nothing special. I tried it as people say they love it, and I would not go back.. but again this is my opinion.

Last July we were able to walk in and get a table around 5:00pm in the evening. It was quiet and a very relaxing atmosphere. Food was good. We really liked it a lot.

Plaza is a must do for lunch each trip. I love their turkey club and the german potato salad is the best! It is a nice break from the crowds and the heat. The restaurant is not very large so if you want to eat there I suggest an ADR. We have been able to just walk up and get a table but usually with a bit of a wait.

The Plaza is on my last resorts place to eat. But many like it.
The soup, ice cream and side salads are good.
The last hamburger I ate there was grissly, and I could have gone better and cheaper at Pecos Bill's, which I am not too crazy about either.
The A/C is a plus.

I twice saw the maitre d' being mean to the ducks that hang out around the line of dining tables outside. (Same guy on 2 separate trips). He said they were pests! Soured me on the restaurant, but that's just me. :confused3

We tried the Plaza for the 1st time in May, and it was great! I had the reuben/fries, followed by a banana split! :cloud9: The sandwich was great, and the banana split was huge & fabulous!! The DDE card saved us $$ here too. We will DEFINITELY be going back to the Plaza! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
