I couldn't get LeCellier - but can't worry about it - we're having steak some other meal.
So I chose Teppanyaki so we'll be in the area - later that evening we're going on an Illuminations cruise.
What can you tell me about Teppanyaki? Is the food good? How is the atmosphere? Seating?
This wouldn't have been my first choice, but hey, I'm branching out. It's just DH and I - so no kids to worry about.Speaking of branching out - we're also doing Marrakesh for lunch on our first day.

P.S. I tried to do a search, but no luck. I hate that search is always down!

We really like Teppanyaki....we always eat here during our trips. I usually get the sirloin and chicken combo. I have never been disappointed! Last trip, I upgraded the sirloin to the filet tips - and they were excellent! I think you will enjoy this restaurant - we always do!

We have never eaten at Marrakesh, but always have wanted to try it out!

We love Teppanaki. Unfortunately when we go it will be closed for refurbishment. The chef cooks to order on a hot tabel in front of you. We just went to another similar one in Aruba so I am not exactly sure which place had what but I think we got a small seaweed salad, soup, stir fried veggies, choice of enteee( filet, lobstr, chicken, shrimp, strip steak or combo) then ice cream. DD gets a veggie dish w/tofu.DH gets sushi. The chef we had made a volcano out of an onion, juggled knives and shrimp tails and made silly jokes. It was fun. Tables seat 8 so unless you have a big party you will share with another party. We were with another couple w/kids and it was fun. :thumbsup2

We went for the first time to Tappanyaki for Christmas lunch last year. We've been to the Japanese "cook in front of you" places before and weren't expecting much. We're also just two. We had a great time. The cook wasn't too into doing all the extras but we inhaled the food. We both got different combos - mine steak and shrimp, his chicken and scallops, figuring we would share. Ha! He didn't stand a chance with my food. I really enjoyed everything about it.

Very fun place. I have heard other posters say its just like the places in your own town, but we have never tried either. We had two girls with us and they even enjoyed it.

Great food. If you order the steak, you will be last to get your meat. No big deal just thought I would tell ya.

The seafood cooks first, yumyum. Husband had the scalops and shrimp dinnner.

Here is my review with pictures Enjoy!

One more thing too, the DDE card is not accepted there!! :furious:

I ate there with my Dh only last Monday @4pm

We have eaten there before and loved it. We only made the adr the day before -(we asked SSR conceriege if there was any spaces and they had that @ 4pm or 8:45pm.)

We arrived 3:40pm and were seated just before 4pm. Dh ordered a coctail and I ordered one of there special non-alcholicl drinks, it was orange, pineapple and lemon I think -really good.

Dh did not have a starter, but I wanted to try the sushi sampler

It was very good.
I then had the scallop & Steak, and Dh had the steak & Chicken.
Just before the chef came out the server brought our table complimentay seaweed salad -which was unusal and good.
The chef was very entertaining and food cooked to perfection.

After the food was finished the server offered us complimentary green tea.

The meal can be quite expensive -so the ddp can be quite cost effective here.
We really enjoyed our meal!

We had a somewhat different experience than the previous posters. The food we had was okay ... good but not great. But our real disappointment was the fact that our chef did absolutely nothing beyond the standard volcano onion for us. No jokes, no flipping food, juggling utensils ... nothing.
We expected a fun and entertaining experience at Teppanyaki and got a boring, quiet meal instead.

We just got back and loved it. Our food was great. Entertainment was good too. Food - on ddp - very good. entree - meat, veggies, noodles, served with white rice. We were stuffed when we left. Highly recommend it!

We also love Teppanyaki! We've been on almost every trip over the past few years. Yes, it can vary depending on your chef. Also, since there are only 2 of you, you will be seated with about 6 others and that can be interesting, especially if you like to talk to strangers. If you've ever been to a Benihana's type place, then you'll now what to expect. One thing I really enjoy is that the food is always served hot!

We've always found the wait staff to be very pleasant (we've done it on DDP and without).

Have a great meal!

A couple of things - if you're used to your hometown Japanese steakhouse format, be aware that they don't serve a salad and a bowl of soup in Japan - everything is a la carte. You can order them separately if you want to. Also, rice comes in a small bowl, and is steamed white rice - if you're used to the fried rice (with the butter and sesame seeds, yum!!) you won't get it here.

The food is great, though - I was just there last night for dinner!!!!!! After a long drive home today, I was wishing I could have it again tonight!!!

We always eat there but they do not take the DDE....which annoys me a bit. Food is consistently good and service is good as well. Depending on your chef, you can have quite a show or a mediocre one, but the food is good. A server takes your order, the food comes out uncooked, the chef goes over with you what you ordered and then cooks it in front of you..

I thought dinner was okay but not great when we went last October. We are humungus Hibachi fans. The no salad, soup or fried rice kind of ruined it for me. I thought the food was kind of boring and it was crammed together. However, when we went to Universal we went to Kobe on International Drive and that was delicious!
