What can you tell me about Target food prices? Our Target just got a full

.82 doesn't sound so good to me. Walmart sells it every day in a five-pack for $2.50. Love 'em or hate 'em, as you say, Walmart does keep the other store prices lower. I did buy a ton at .10/box . . . I think I had some shoved in the hall closet.

I never buy the character boxes because they contain less than the plain ones (check the weight). Well, that and my kids are teens, so they no longer care.

Shop Rite and Acme . . . I don't know those stores.

I agree, not great but better than my other options. I usually buy it at BJs where I get 15 for $10 - a coupon often offered (usually $3-$4 off) but I will not go there just for an item or two. Our grocery stores charges $1 box regular price and the closest Walmart is 25 minutes away. I mentioned in my PP that Target is our cheapest option other than BJs. Our grocery store are outrageous! We do not have the low price options around here. We had one discount store but it went out of business two years ago.

I usually do not buy the character boxes either. Since they were on sale I bought a box for DS as a treat. Honestly, I do not let him eat boxed mac n cheese often so it is a treat in any form.

Don't forget that Target allows you to stack coupons. You can use 1 Target coupon with 1 Manufacturer's coupon.

I love shopping on Target for the deals. I don't do all of my shopping there but I stock up on the really cheap items.

Well, I just checked out our new Target grocery section yesterday - same one as MJKAC and Mike. (We should meet up!)

I got Oscar Meyer deli meats on sale 2/$5 and used a $1 coupon. Also Chunky soup $1.50 per can, used a $1 off two coupon so they came out to $1 each.

How do you get Target coupons too? They don't have them in the circular that I know, just sale prices. Are they online? Or are you just talking about the printouts from the register?

Thanks!

I don't shop based on price much (ducking on this board hee-hee) but one thing I don't like about our Target is the lack of variety. I like more of a choice of items and I don't find that at Target. I usually shop Wegmans. If I only need a few items, I'll go to Target just to grab them but I don't shop there on a regular basis.

Go to the grocery area of Targets website, you can print coupons. I go to www.supertarget.com and there is a link right on that page for them.

Mine just opened a new grocery section last week, too.

I was quite impressed with both the selection and the prices. I bought a cart load of groceries (no coupons) mostly going from my list but adding some stuff. I'm sure at Stop and Shop I would've spent over $100 but my total came to $82.

The quality of stuff, I think, is better than most other stores. Like, they don't have the cheap meat that I usually buy (that's both cheap in quality and price).

They did have Better Crocker (or maybe Duncan Hines) brownie and cake mixes on sale for .75 and $1.

So if you're a couponer and watch for sales, I think you'd do just fine at Target.

prices even vary Target to Target on groceries...I saw the 4 pack of BumbleBee tuna have a $2.00 difference. Also, I noticed things inching up, then Target released their 5% back program if you use thier red card...hmmmm...coincidence, maybe, but questionable. You just have to know your prices and your style of shopping.

It's a New Jersey thing...been there, done that...

ShopRite is something of a retailer's cooperative while Acme comes from the same company that has Albertson's, Jewel, and about 14 others in their family of stores...

Target in Houston is much higher than Walmart and they don't carry as many brands. But they do have some really great deals with their Target coupons especially if you can stack it with a Manufacture coupon. They also have gift card deals which can be pretty good.

And effective last Sunday, if you pay with their redcard you get 5% off which makes their prices a little more bareable.

Checkout the blog at totallytarget.com. She always posts the best deals with coupon matchups. I know since I've been reading it I've spent a lot more time in target than I have in the past.
