What can you tell me about Olivia's?

Yes, definately give it a try. Will you be staying at OKW? They serve Breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you are not staying at okw, it isnt anything special enought to make a trip from elsewhere for but if you are staying there its a definate do!

If you are staying at OKW then it is definately worth eating there. We had dinner there a couple of times. Didn't need ADR, We were there in August the wait was only 10 minutes. The closest restaurants to OKW are in Downtown Disney. There are lots of options there and you can take a boat from the hotel!

I agree with the other posters here - Olivia's is a nice place to eat. Its got a relaxed atmosphere and plain cooking. It won't knock your socks off but you'll come away full and happy.

I had dinner at Olivia's last December and it was okay. As PP's have said, the food was good (and mostly filling), but it wasn't anything extra special. It's the kind of place and I wouldn't object to going back to if I was at OKW, but I would not make a specific point of going to OKW to eat at Olivia's.

I posted some pictures from the dinner on the Food Picture thread:

I have to agree with the PP. When we stay at OKW, we usually eat at Olivia's at least once. The food is good and the atmosphere nice. But I wouldn't make a special trip to OKW just to eat there.

How close is the lounge?

The lounge is next to Olivia's and is connected through a set of French doors. The loung is extremely tiny but the bartenders are great

We stayed at OKW in Dec and ate at Olivia's the first night. Most of the choces were very plain. The food itself was ok but I would have been very upset if I had travelled from another resort. I was really disappointed with the food choices at OKW. The counter service is limited with no indoor seating and there is only one table service (Olivia's) which is good at best. Considering this is a DVC lovation I was expecting a lot more

We've eaten there twice and enjoyed it. (We ate there in 2008 and 2009.) In 2008 they had amazingly good hot wings that we went back for in 2009. But they changed them on the menu, because people complained they were too spicy. (Which annoyed us greatly, as we really like spicy food.)

I would go there, however, just for the Key Lime Tart they make. Holy cow - was that ever good.

And our last time there in 2009, we got the BEST service we EVER had on any of our many trips to the World. Our server was so fabulous that we actually called the manager over to let him know how great it was.

So I would say it's definitely worth a visit, but I'm not going to list it on my Top Faves restaurant choices.

We really like Olivia's. The atmosphere is great for relaxing after a long park day. Last time we went our waitor John was awesome! DD &DS are asking to visit him on our next trip.

That was the name of our amazing server in 2009!!! I wonder if it's the same guy!

Our Ratings of Olivia's:
. . . food price value: C
. . . food quality: C
. . . food quantity per serving: B
. . . food prep speed: B
. . . food selection: C
. . . seating quantity: C
. . . seating comfort: C
. . . eatery atmosphere: B
. . . eatery convenience: D
. . . staff friendliness: B
. . . staff helpfulness: A
. . . character interaction: n/a

NOTE: It is somewhat inconvenient to drive
or take a bus to OKW. The food uniqueness used
to be lovely, but DDP has forced the eatery to
slip greatly in the unique department. Although
pleasant surroundings, the food is only above
average for lunch and dinner, but breakfast is
quite good.

olivias doesnt have that much of a variety. But the food is outstanding. they sticky wings were awsome and as was the bread. but the dishes are sorta large, so we ended up not eating there. But my sister got the strawberry smoothie and said it was very ice chunk filled yet very delicious!
