My kids all got gift cards to BAB for Christmas and I've been saving them to use in DTD. I thought I remember reading that if you stay at a Disney Resort Hotel you can get early entry. How does that work? We are staying at GCH. We get in on June 25th around 2pm and I thought we could do DTD in the evening and let them do BAB then, but will the store be REALLY crowded? :scared1:

The line was outrageous when I went in February, but we stayed and did it anyway. It was about 1 or 2pm. DD used gift cards she had recieved for her birthday. I think it's worth it because they have DL shirts and stuff I've never seen at any other BAB. Unfortunately I could not even convince DD to get a Disney princes outfit. She wanted a fairy dress, one of the pink and purple ones with wings. Nothing especially Disney about it. But oh well, at least I wasn't paying! :)

do they have MM ears for the bears or just the tshirts?

EE would be great perc for onsite guests.

What time do the DTD stores usually open?

The only thing I remember that was different about this BAB is the fact that it is one of the very few places you can get a BAB Mickey or Minnie. We went 2 years ago in the middle of June, and it wasn't too crowded at all.

We were just there and this was on my list of things to do. DH and I both built a bear for ourselves. (I know, 2 adults building bears, but we are kids at heart!)

We went on a weekday around 4:30 and there was no one there, we walked in, picked our bears, and got out of there in no time! They do have special outfits for them. They have a shirt with Mickey on it that says Disneyland and comes with mouse ears, and one with Minnie as well. I bought the Minnie set and then got another set of Princess mickey ears because they were so cute. They have a lot of Disney outfits there that they don't carry at the regular stores.

I don't know about the early entry, but I think that sometimes during the middle of the day is a good time since everyone is at the parks! Good luck and have fun!

I went a couple of weeks ago there. They have some Disney exclusive stuff. I was able to get a Stitch costume for my oldest for one of her bears. She loves it. I was there around 8 at night and there were some people there but not really busy. BTW it was a Sunday night so that could be why.

We have BAB here in Australia but it is really expensive- clothes for the bears cost as much as clothes for the kids... Is it expensive there ? What is the price for a bear's T shirt for example- My kids already have bears so they'll just want outfits and I don't know if I should even let them look???

My son built a bear years ago there, got a cool Buzz outfit for it. It's neat for the exclusive items that you can't get locally.

The Stitch outfit was $15.00. Just about all of the outfits are about $15.00. They have shirts and shorts too but I don't know their costs.

The Buzz outfit here is $30- so with the great exchange rate $15 sounds ok

It's the same for us - we are in the UK and clothes at Build-a-Bear in the US were half the price they would be at home. My daughter had been asking for ages to build a bear, and we kept telling her to wait as it would be so much cheaper in America. She did wait, and saved up plenty of money, and had a fantastic time in the Downtown Disney BAB :cool1: (and to answer the original question, we went on a weekday afternoon last August and it wasn't busy at all).

I can't remember exactly how much we spent in there but it was over $100  and that was WITH a discount coupon someone kindly gave a link to on here :thumbsup2 I have to confess I think I put a couple of things in the basket too  I couldn't resist, and just kept telling myself it would be twice the price if we were buying at home!

Now of course we do buy clothes for her here and they are SO expensive :scared1: I swear that rabbit has more clothes and shoes than I do! ;)

Not to change the subject but does anyone have a current link to a recent discount for Build a Bear (as the previous post mentioned), I am trying to research it on the net-nothing. Or does anyone know where to get a coupon for that BAB? Every bit counts :goodvibes

Thank you

Register with their website. I immediately got a coupon via email for $5 off when you make a bear. Then you get a $5 coupon in the mail about a month later. Have fun!:thumbsup2
